City Attorney Abraham explained that the resolution is a part of the process that we have
to go through to use the state matching funds along with our funds in this arterial street
improvement, the resolution authorizes the street deportment to go ahead and do the work
that has been planned, he mentioned that there tray also an emergency ordinance to be noted
upon to transfer an additional five thousand dollars which visa not budgeted into the arteri

fund.

Fire Chief Jones reported to the council that the now fire truck had arrived and a
renresontative form the 'ilashington State Survey Rating Bureau will be hero tomorrow to test
the truclt to their satisfaction and after the inspection there twill La a little haggling
over shortages and etc and then will accept bhe truck w::ich than will be put into op-aration.
Fire Chief Jones said he would like to sell fire truck No. 1, he said that he had talked
it over with the fire cotmnitteo but the council would have to give their pormission. No
action was taken on Fire Chief Jones request.
Councilman Ruby asked City Attorney Abraham to commant on the subject of a local business
tax or llcenso. Attorney Abraham said there •.we:e several licensing possibilities and expleii
two of them, he suggested that the matter be turned over to the finance committee. LTayor
Protein Siebenbaum turned the im tter over to the finance com!nitee for study.

said that he eras bringing this up before the council to .see if they thought it would be
a good idea or not and would like the council to think it over and give their opinion at
the next regular council meeting.

Councilman Ruby said that at the last meeting of the citzens group concerning
center thought it would make a good city hall and wore in favor of it for the building itse
was not nor ever was planned for a recreation center.
Councilman Ruby brought another matter before the council for consideration, suggesting
that some sort of plan be adopted under which residents of the area envolved would pay for
any type of improvements such as streets, sewers, winter & etc".

resigned from the park board thanking him for his Services to the city.
