The City Clerk asked permission from the Council to call for bids on Liability Insurance
Coverage requirements, bids to be opened :day 4th 1965. It was moved by Councilman Linsey
seconded by Councilman Thomas that the call for bids be granted. :lotion carried. -
Councilman Lindsey reported on the light standards saying that Yr Capriotti had offered
12.00 a ton for the standards to use as scrap and IT:r Iien Brown had offered one dollar each
for the light fixtures. Councilman Lindsey made a mot'on seconded by Councilman Ruby that
the light standards be declared surplus and of no value to the city, and that Mr Capriottis f;
offer of 12.00 per ton be accepted and Mr Iien Browns offer of 1.00 for each fixture be
accepted, all to be sold except the four standards and fixtures that the VFI'! of Quilcene
were donated and the ones that the uptown business men wanted. Motion carried.
Councilman Lindsey on the request of the Central Labor Council to erect a Green River Ord.

Councilman Judy said that there were more request for street lic11ts on vr¢shington at. Afto
some discussion it was held over until the next regular session.;
Councilman Thomas brought up the subject of building permitr.fsos,_he read a schedule used
by Port Angeles as follows: 20. to 100. foe of 1.00 from 101. to 400. fee of 2.00. 401 to ( �'
700. foe of 4.00 from 701. to 1,000. fee of 6,00. and goes the same up to 15,000. from
15,000. to 50,000. ❑ dollar per t ousand and permits over 50,000. 50cents per tl•ousand.
It vras moved by Councilman T::omas seconded by Councilman Ruby that a Ord. be drawn up for
the new building permit fee schedule. Motion carried.

Councilman Ruby again brought up additional ways of raising money for the City, he spoke
of a business tax and also proposed a monthly assessment against city residents . Council -:an
Hoglund spoke in favor of a proprietors or shopkeepers license rather than a business and
occupational tone tax. City Attorney Abraham pointed out that the city has no authority to
impose taxation such as assessments against city residents and any form of excess levy would
have to $e voted on at the polls and it would be on property than on individual basis. After !'
further discussion it was agreed by the council to have a meeting on the 27th at the Fire �I!
Hall to discust now additional revenue for tho city. City Attorney Abraham mentioned and ,—
sag ooted the the g•esent paddlers license regulations which visa badly in need of revision I
,should be gone over at the same meeting. _
Councilman Lindsey innuired regarding progress on the eitys sayer system study.l:e was
informed that tests were scheduled this week by the engineering firm and that all work was h;
going to schedule. Councilman Lindsey suggested a trip by all the council to inspect differe t
(types savior treatment plants, no date was set.

the City Hall. Mayor Sullivan presiding.
