Councilman Carter made a motion seconded by Councilman Siebenbaum that a resolution be
drawn up and adopted to transfer the funds as requested. IAotion carried.

TO "CAPITAL OUTLAY" IN THE 1964 BUDGET FOR THE CITY PARI{
FUND.
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, in regular session assembled, do hereby
resolve: That the sum of ;i•4n•:00.00 be and it is hereby transferred from ages" to Capital Outlay
in the 1964 budget of the City.

City Attorney Abraham reported to the Council that he and the clerk went to Olympia on
the 16th of Oct. and filed in the Thurston County Superior Court our notice of appeal from
tho Tax Commission order cfnich fleeced us of 20,848.3B. He informed the council that he
t::ought our position was much stronger than the Kennewick case, but even though if we won
in the suncrior court the State would tape it to time surpreme court as the state did on the
Henniwick case. In any event it would be some time before our case would be brought up and
that it could be that if the Kennewick case could be completed bofore we had to go to court
and if if Kennewick won then he was sure the State wouldnt take ours to court.
Mayor.Sullivan informed the Council that 1,rs Symonds commended F'ir•e Chief Jones and the
fire department on the good job they did on the fire at thoirO%ouse.
;Mayor Sullivan told the council that lie was getting calls on people tvho were comning intc
town selling items and etc. and felt something should be done to put a stop to the house
to house soliciting. Co ncilinan Thomas said that he felt the Green River Ordinance shoild
be repealed and a new ordinance drawn up establishing a license fee. After some discussion
Mayor Sullivan asked the council to meet before the next regular session and discuss ways
and means on establishing a license fee.
City Attorney Abraham said he had taled to the bank president about the lease purchase
arrangement on the new fire truck and as far as he was concerned both were ok. It was now
uD to the Curtis Cc and Fire Chief Jones si.ould contact the Curtis Co and tell them to get
on the ball.
Councilman Hoglund asked the Street Supt. if anything had been done about the walk along
side the elks club - the answer was no.

As there was no further business to come before the Council at this time it was moved by
Councilman Lindsey seconded by Councilman Siebenbsum that the meeting do now adjourn.

day of November 1964 at 7:30 pm in the Council Chambers of the City hall, Mayor Sullivan >
presiding.

It was moved by Councilman Carter seconded by Councilman Siebenbaum that due to the Nationt 1 f
election and the members would like to leave early that the minutes be dispensed with. Idotio
