Gentlemen:
We would like to apply for permission to install a two inch water line in the area near the
mouth of Chimacum Creek. It is our intent to tie to the four inch line which ends at the foc t
of Moore Street and run it alongside the road designated as first avenue on original Ironda'a
plat for a distance of about 1,800 feet to our mill.
Out main purpose of water usage is for fire protection and sanitation. Under normal conditions
the daily usage of water would be negligible.
Your very truly,

Both Types A and B are major contract items under Section 4.03, State of
',Vashington Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction. Since
they have decreased and increased more than 25%, respectively, said items
require a price adjustment under the provisions of said section.
Tile contractor's costs for excavating Type A material were $1.36 per yard and for
'type P. material $1. 97.
Channell Excavation increased 6776 from 10, 101 cubic yards shown on the bid
proposal to approximately 15, 000 cubic yards. The latter quantity was computed
without benefit of cross -sections and is, therefore, subject to correction.
Channel Excavation is, likewise, a major contract item under Section 4.03, here-

® Channel Excavation were $2. 67 per yard. The City has recognized an increase of
32% or 3,266 cubic yards of Channel Excavation over the quantity set forth in the
hid proposal, but has not accounted for additional Channel Excavation made necessary
by the City's re -alignment of the pipe line and the additional excavation made
necessary by the contractor's use of proper size equipment.

Two menefromatho State Pollution spoke before the Council on the recent test of waters
to local sewage outfalls, saying that the city of Port Townsend were not doing anything to
correct the situation and it bus reached the point where the commission desires the city
to retain a consulting engineer and develop a comprehensive plan and until the city does
this they would be very very reluctant to approve any further plans for sewage extensions
and connections. City Attorney Abraham pointed out to the two gentolmen that the city was
going ahead with a program, there had been lengthy meetings, consulting engineers were now
under consideration. Mayor Sullivan said that varous consulting engineers who have been in
contact with the city would be invited to the next councils meeting with a view to ward
action on the issue.
Mayor Sullivan asked the City Clerk to read a letter that he had written to the departmen
