I further request that the date of bid opening be July 21, 1964 and that the fire and light committee of the council and officers of the fire department be considered as a truck committee to go over all bids and recommend their choice or decision at the following council meeting. It is the intent, or the hope of the fire department to purchase a truck on a yearly lease proposition for which a sum of $3000.00 dollars has been budgeted this year. I feel that a purchase of this size should be given a lengthy consideration before a judgement is made, hence the request for committee action. Sincerely, Robert Jones, Chief Port Townsend Fire Dept.
