Mayor Sullivan mentioned the possibility of leaseing the street. Councilman Lindsey ,FS, 1; Councilman Lindsey said that lie was again lassoing or vacating streets but was willing 'l p'. to go along with Mr Costars suggestion of fencing with the stipulation that the City could open the street at any time. Councilman �; „ Carter made a motion acconded by Councilman Judy that the City Attorney draw up an easement on a yearly basis with the option to renew each year. ?,lotion carried. w= af�l Mayor Sullivan said that on ids 1st the Seniors of the Port Townsend High School would tin,a:> Y Y Ni . take over the City offices and the different departments of the city and on the 2nd of May is } would be clean up day. 1•+khq Fire Chief Jones reported on the Fire Meeting he attended at Yakima saying it was very W�gy' informitive. He asked permission to fire practice some evening at the city hall, he promise i x rii' r hot to burn the place down but would like to have the door unlocked so they vrouldnt have to go through it with an axe. Permission was granted. Arey informed the Council that he vras almost through with the water line in the , ,t +v dru;' country and would start the new line on 14t1Y this week. k*�kF� Councilman Carter haid that he had been approchdd about merchandise being displayed on k ti{G the sidewalks, saying that for years merchandise had been displaced on the sidewalks and only taken up about a third of the sidewalk but here lately a boat and trailer h¢d appeared }+.w • on taylor street that took up about throe quarters of the thouldare. After considerable discussion City Attorney Abraham said that the boat & trailer problem could be handled thatj euz;x�r he would talk to the individual and if that would not do any good the would have the police talk MayortSullivan informed the Council that a meeting would be held YHt at his place on _[+ + Monday the 27th, the meeting would be about treatment plants and would like to have the council there along with the City Attorney and the City Engineer. Couhcilman Ruby asked the council what happened to the petition that vras presented ` some time ago on wator pressure and additional hydrants for the north beach area. After some discussion Mayor Sullivan referred the matter to the crater committee.
