Councilman Siobenbaum reported that the wator comnittoo hnd checked over the different
requests for water linos and also had checked on the mile of line to be put in nt Irondalo k
Hadlock area, and the committee felt that the line in the Irondale Hadlock area should be
put in first for the lino was in very bad shape and had to be replaced. Water Supt. Ar•ey
reported that there was two and a h81$ miles yet to be put in that area and f Olt that a Mile
could be put in this year and still put in the request at 14th street. City Attorney Abraham
said he would appreciate if the vrater comnittoo would look over the LID sot up on 14th befor
and ordinace was drafted. It was moved by Councilman Siobenbaum seconded by Councilman
Carter the the 'slater Supt, be out_orizod to go ahead and got the necessary equipment he need d
to reolaco the mile of lin in the Hadlock Irondalo district. !,lotion Harried.
Mr. Ellis received permission from the council to speak, saying he had s piece of proport
by Safetny and had a navy renter going in and would like to have a motor removed for a londin
zone and also would like to have the bulkhead changod so that acoss could be had to the buil ing,

The Oity Council of the City of Port Townsend met in regular sessi,tn this 18th day of February 1964 at
7:30 PH in the council chambers of the City Hall. Mayor Protem Steve presiding.
ROLL CALL
Officers and members present were as follows: Mayor Protem Steve, Cbty Attorney Abraham, City Clerk Young
blood, Councilmen Carter, Lindsey, Siebenbaum, Judy, Hoglund, Thomas.
MINUTES OF THE PREVI)US SESSION
Minutes of the previ^us session were read in full and it was moved by Co mcilman Siebenbaum seconded by
Councilman Lindsey that the minutes be approved as read and the Mayor and City Clerk sign same. Motion carri, .
BUILDING PFR14ITS
The following building permits were presented and acted upon as follows:
Bud 'Winterburn, Porch, 161X501, Frame, W-ter & Adams, $100.00.
Eliza Veola, Remodel Garage, 61X141, Frame, V & Willow, $100.00.
It was moved by Councilman Lindsey seconded by Councilman Hoglund that the building permits be granted.
Motion carried.
BID OPENING
- As this was the time and place for opening of the bids for narking meters for the city of Port Townsend,

The questizn was brought up on whether or not the city was getting the nroner amount of trade in allowance
for meters on hand and after some discussion it was moved by Councilman Hoglund seconded by Councilman Judy,
- that the bid be tabled until the nexL regular session until the police and ''icense committee could check.
Notion carried.

Cpuricilman Siebenbaum made a motion seconded by Councilman Judy that enough nine and fittings he included
in the call for bids to cover the ,job on west Lawrence street. Motion carried.

NEW & OLD BUSINESS P
Mayor protem Steve informed the council that he had been approached by Capt. Frye of the State Patrol asking
if the City would consider breaking the lease that they have Oith the city for office space at the City Hall, I,
saying that have a building in town that they can rent. Mayor Steve recommended to the Council that it be done
Councilman Darter made a motion seconaed by Councilman Judy that the lease be terminated as requested.
Motion carried.
'I '; Y,r'Tt;• Councilman Lindsey informed the Mayor and Council that the street committee had agreed to the request of
Mr. Ellis on removing the one meter and also the work on the bulkhead that he w1uld like to do. Councilman
Lindsey made a motion seconded by Councilman Judy that the one narking meter be removed and the bulkhead work

i u �,� � be done under the supervision and specifications of the City Engineer and the Steet Sunt. Motion carried.
�w 7, ajltrya1«, Mayor Protem Steve informed the council that after the news item that anpeared in the newspaper last week
aboutthe pollution deal, he had about a half a dozen call from different engineers and suggested that a couple
�( anpear before the council and at this time Mr Ohin who is associated with Carey & Kramer of Seattle and if the
council had no objection he and his associate would say a few words. Mr Chin and his associate spoke beBore
bhe council about their company and the work that they were doing in other cities in treating raw sewage, and
suggested to the council that if and when the city of Port Townsend had to nut in a sewage treatment plant or
some other methodH they would like to be remembered.
