COMMUNICATIONS
From Olympic Health District _ to -wit.- Jan. 31, 1963
Dennis Sullivan, Mayor
City of Port Townsend •'C
Port Townsend, Washington
Dear Mayor and City Councilmen:
It was noted in a report of City Council proceedings that concern was expressed over the onening of Lords
Lake and City Lake to public fishing by the State Department of Game.
Even tho•igh we since have learned that this was a mistake, the lakes are listed in the 1963 fishing regulation
which will certainly create some problems as far as keeping the public away from the domestic water sunnly
is concerned.
We would suggest and urge that the City of Port Townsend proimently post all access roads to these lakes again t r
trespass and fishing and to as far as possible patrol the area during the fishing season.
This department would also suggest that the City of Port Townsend go on written record with the State Game
commission opposing opening the lakes to fishing so that listing in the regulations will not occur in followin
years.
Very truly yours,
Donald A. Morrison. R.S.
District Sanitarian ,
Water Supt. Arey said that he and Mayor Sullivan had went to Olymnia to the game department and were told
that tiis was the first year that they had Dublished the list of lakes for fishing and were published in erro
They suggested posting signs of no fishing.
