From Albert Follme - to -wit!
Port Townsend, 'lastin;,ton
December 17, 1962
Honorable :'ayor and :'embers of City Council
City of Port Townsend, Washington
Gentleman:
1 am very happy to hoar and read from some other source, other then me, a protes to a lend
deal by the City Council. The Council violating an old rule by not calling and advertising
for bids. Second, by selling these lots at help price, which should be added to the City
Park. I, also assume now, that the City will donate that part of 59th streets afront of there
four lots and who knows what will happen about the tidelands abbudding same street. It is
unthinkable to sell or lease any property owned by the City or Cotalcy in an area as idorth
Beach, wi;ich is in my way of thinking the future of Port Townsend. I also wish to remind th
City Council that they again will take under consideration the romanding of that part of 57ti
street, wi:ich they ao 'mon;fuily vacated in site of my protest.
Yours Respectfully,
Albert Follme

Yio, the •andcrsi•;nod tau;:payers and business people of the City of Port Townsend reapractfull,
petition the City Council for a chap c in the present policy relative to t:e operation of th
City ';urbane dump. .,o urCe the Council to permit the d1scosal of lurger scrap metal objects
at the dump; if necessary, scttln? aside a apocial section of the dump for this purpose.. C!o
would point out that tine present policy encourabes unlawful depositing of such objects on
unaut'rorinod (;rounds cr,at_n. a ublic nulaenco and an unsi!;htly condition. For those
bunincss people w..o attom;•t to dispose of such refuse lawfully, the present policy of refusi
to permit us to ]heave l.arre metal pieces at the City dump imposes an undue financial ?nu•den
and Its a r'reat inconvenicnco. '.o auk that ','ou consider our very real problem and adopt a
more real._ tic dioposal policy.
