Councilman Siebenbaum made a motion seconded by Councilman Rust the the rates • ? of the garbage department be raised from 1.50 to 2.00 effectiffe the 1st of October 1962 and the existing Ord. be ammended to read as such. Motion carried. •j`` ORDINANCE NO. 1425 An Ordinance of the City of Port Townsend ammending Section 6 of Ordinance No 1138 and thereby increasing rates for garbage collections. Councilman Steve made a motion seconded by Councilman Lindsey that the first reading be considered the seconded reading and the third reading be by title only. Motion carried. THIRD READING AND PASSAGE OF ORD. No. 1425 Ord. No. 1425 was read was read again by title only and Coupcilman Bindsey made a motion seconded by Councilman Steve that Ord. No. 1425 do now pass. Motion carried. ADJOURNMENT As there was no further business to come before the Council at this time it was moved by Councilman Lindsey seconded by Councilman Siebenbaum that the meeting do now adjourn. ROLL CALL t Officers & members present were as follows: :,Tayor Sullivan, City Attorney Abraham, City j T x Clerk Youngblood, Councilmen Rust, Judy, Hoglund, Steve, Lindsey, Carter, Councilman Sieben absent. BUDGET SESSION Mayor Sullivan announced that the purpose of the meeting was for the consideration of th budget of the City of Port Townsend, for 1963, as required by statute and that no other • business would be considered at the meeting. BUDGET CONSIDERATION Mayor Sullivan called for a discussion on whether the Council should give the employees ® of the City a retirement plan or a pay raise. after some discussion, it was the opinion of the Council that it was impossible to give the employees of the City both the pension plan end the pay raise. It was moved by Councilman Lindsey seconded b- Councilman Carter that th retirement fund be deleted and the raises be given. Motion carried. The Council considered each item of the budget, making changes as necessary, changes to confirmed after full consideration. CURRENT EXPENSE FIY14D Noehanges made under General City Government, City Treasurer, City Cleric, City Attorney, Police Court, City Engineer, City Hall Building,, Election & Registration, Humane Society, 3oalth Department, Civil Defense Birector Expense, Street Lighting Service, Civil Service Commission, City Employees Retirement System, the item 4,600.00 deleted. Under the division of the Police Department, the item Repairs & Supplies for Autos reduced from 900.00 to 700. Under the division of the Fire Department, the item 4(f(dK Deluge Set under Capital outlay of 525.00 was deleted. It was moved by Councilman Steve seconded by Councilman Hoglund that the changes of the Current Expense Fund be confirmed and adopted. ?,otion carried. OLY3SPIC GRAVITY nATL�.R FU11D Under the Salary, Repairmen (2) visa raised from 9,720.00 to 9,960.00, the item salary, department clerk was reduced from 4,200.00 to 4,020.00, under wages, Labor, was reduced from 3,000.00 to 2,500.00, Employees Retirement System, 1,200.00 deleted. Councilman Steve made a motion seconded by Councilman Judy that the changes be confirmec and that the Olympic Gravity hater Fund Budget be adopted. Motion Carried.
