Mayor Green rand a communication from the Olympic Health District the letter saying that
the City of Port Townsend had a water outlet whereby sea -going vassals could take on water
for domestic use and as agents for the U.S. Public "ealth Service, must certify that the
quality of such water would meet certain standards, thereby the local health department hud
been renuestod to submit monthly reports of water samples taken. Enclosed with the communic❑
was a report for the month of May 1961 .

Mayor Green made an announcement of the 26th annual institute of government what would be
held at the University Washington campus July 12th & 14th.
Mayor Green said that on behalf of the Jefferson County Art League the pv esident Mrs
Helander and Councilwoman Johnson had asked her to extend a special invitation to the Counci
to attend the present showing end reception Sat. June 24th at 7:00 PM in the evening at the
Johnson home.
Councilman Sullivan reported to the Council that the local artist Mr Tom Wilson had
volunteered to reJuvennte the City Entrance sign, Councilnan Sullivan said the was donating
the paint himself and Ilso the garden club had asked approval of taking care of the grounds
at the entrance sign. The Council expressed it appreciation and approval.
Councilman Steve reported on a check of finances available for street lighting, reminding
the council that he was in favor of more street lights, but conceded that a thorough check
of funds that will be available with the same rente of expenditures for the balance of the
year, that additional XXXXXXX requests for lights would have to wait until next year, saying
that Lhe had been informed by Mr. Copps that a lighting survey would be made by Puget Sound
Power & Light for City needs in the near future.
Pith the regular council meeting falling on the fourth of July, Councilman Steve made a
�motion seconded by Councilmen Sullivan that the u+oxt regular meeting of the City Council be
on the llth of July, Motion carried. Councilmen Wohnson asked for a meeting Bf the buildin
ommittee fifteen minutes in the mayors office before the next regular meeting.
Councilman Sullivan suggested that the tell grass around the City Hall should be triruned
due to the tourists and also fire hazard. Street Supt. Arey promised to looks i,uto the
situation with n view toward blacktoppin in the vicinity of the building.
A salesman of the McGee Hill Parking Meter Co. gave a talk and demostration of th6Ir type
of parking meters.
ADJOURNMENT
As there was no further business to come before the Council at thes time it was moved by
Councilman Sullivan seconded by Councilman ';iebenbaum that the meeting do now adjourn. itotio
