It was moved by Councilman Lindsey seconded by Councilman Sullivan that the City accept the bid of Buhler Motor Co. Bor the price of $1,715.84. Motion carried. It was moved by Couhcilman Sullivan seconded by Councilman Siebenbaum, that the moving ermit be granted. Motion carried. TEAR DOWN PERMIT The follwoing tear down permit was presented and acted upon as follows: s Russell Kunz, Garage, 16+x201, 49th & Jackman, to abide by Ord. No. 907. It was moved by Councilman Sullivan seconded by Councilman Lafferty that the tear down permit be granted. Motion Carried. ACCEPTANCE OF BID OF W.T.R. NO. 8 (Road construction) City Engineer Ed Becker informed the council & Mayor that the bids had all been checked -_ nd was found that Bass Construction Co. Inc. of Seattle, was the low bidder for 1,32,206.10 and recommended to the Couhcil that Bass Construction Co. be awarded the bid. It was moved by Councilman Sisbenbsum seconded by Councilman Lafferty that the City accept the low bid of Bass Construction Co. Inc. of Seattle and that the bonds and Certified checks be returned to the unsuceeeful biders. Motion Carried. February 27, 1961 - To -wit: To: The City Council, Port Townsend, Washington Subject: Request for Street Light. We, the undersigned, hereby respectfully request that a street light be installed at the corner of Clallam and McKinley Streets, on the East side of the street. The above mentioned area is badly in need of lighting, and we feel that installation of a street light would contribute materially to the safety and well-being of the children and adults of the neigh- borhood as well as discourage acts of vandalism and/or destruction of property. To the Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council of Fort Townsend, 'Washington to -wit: We, the undersigned, property owners of the North Beach District of the City of Port Townsei Washington, respectfully petition for the following installations therein: 1. That the City street lighting system be extended to include the intersection of 57th and Jackmann Streets. Five now residences build in that vicinity recently will benefit thereby. 2. That a fire hydrant be installed at the same intersection to facilitate fire fighting apparatus hho ld the need arise to protect private property in that vicinity. 3. That the actions indicated in 1, above be further extended to include a street light on the light pole in the vicinity of 59th and Bill streets not only for the purposes of illum hating the area including nearby newly constructed residences, but more appropriately as an effective detorent to nocturnal visitors in their frequent use of that area as a lovers lane. From Bud Ammeter, Oil Co. to -wit: February 7, 1961 City Council City of Port Townsend r Port Townsend, Washington Gentlemen: we are in the process of building a new office building, having received a permit through you. We find a telephone pole guy wire cros3es where the sidewalk will be built from the street to the office door. This wire will catch the customer across the chest if permitted to remain in its present location. We have ph)ned the Fort Angeles office twice to have this wire the ged to run overhead to a pole a short distance away.
