ension Fund and Pension Program, which will include within its provisions each and every City Employee not pre ntly

Councilman Steve spoke on the Pension Plan saying that he had contacted one insurance agent regarding such

program. Mayor Green also stated that she had contacted agents and that the request would be taken under

PETITION HEARING
Mayor Green announced that this was the time for the public hearing on the petition for vacating an alley
n Block 49 of the Eisenbeis Addition to the City of Port Townsend, and had the Clerk again read in full the
etitien. Mr. Horton the petitioner, spoke before the council siring that he never intended to build his house

n the alley, that they had measured down from the existing streets not knowing at the time what a fouled up

(fair the Eisenbeis addition was at the time. Later someone mentioned that there were some houses on part of

she street so had Mr. Lay come in and survey and that was when it was found that his house was about four or

ive feet in the alley and as he was sole owner of block 49 and that it would involve considerable expense in

oving the house. Councilman Steve said that though I am not in favor of vacating streets and alleys, and though

am not in favor of anyone who goes about building on property without considering the boundary lines, I am in

avor of vacating this alley because it goes nowhere, and made a motion seconded by Couhcilman Lindsey that the

lley be vacated. Councilman Sullivan informed the council that he knew of two or three other people who would

'ike to have alleys vacated and if the Council vacated this one they would petition to have thoes alleys vacated_

Steve informed the Mayor & Council that the meter c0lection boxes were paying off. Councilman

ullivan said that there was no report on the street light at 14tFat this time. Mayor Green said that she

report at the next tegular session. Mayor Green read a recommendation concerning fireworks, fpom theoletter
non which City Attorney Abraham said that he would like to have the Council bear in mind that we had an ordinan a
covering fireworks and pointed out that someone wants the State to take over a function that in his opinion was
function of the city but thought all new that the state was trying to run the city now and this was just one

re thing of state interference in municipal affairs. Councilman Sullivan read a report from the water Dept.

In that the delinquent list was much greater since the discount was taken off, Mayor green suggested that
e water committee meet with the Water Supt. for a study of the accounts. .
ADJOURNMENT
As there was no further business to come before the Council at this time it was moved by Councilman Linsey
conded by Councilman Siebenbaum that the meeting do now adjourn. Motion carried.

TO THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. That alley located in Block 49 of the Eixenbeis Addition to the City of Port Townsend,

and running in a northerly -southerly direction through the center of said Block 49, per Plat of the Eisenbeis

Addition to the said City of Port Townsend, County of Jefferson, State of Washington, be and it is hereby
vacated.

Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication a
