Mayor Leighton gnvo permission to Mr. Frank Symonds. Mr. Symonds said that he was there I, opresonting the Jefferson County Fair Association and nsked pdrmis& on to set aside the city {itax fee thnt was required for a circus that was going to be hold. After some discussion ther t I as no action taken by the Council at this time on the request. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS SESSION Minutes of the previous session were read in full and it was moved by Councilman Mueller seconded by Councilmen Lafferty that the minutes be approved as read and that the Mayor and City Clark sign same. Motion carried. Motion carried. + w r>{} • 275 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR SESSION OF JULY 5 1960 CONTINUED NEW & OLD BUSINESS see ^j yEDj City Attorney Abraham reported that he still had not heard from the Navy about the pipe ;a line at the green spot. Water Supt. Arey informed the Council that he had received complaints from Morgan Hill e: residents that they could got no water and in investigating it showed the level in the fii a reservoirs had dropped eight feet, causing a lack of pressure in the high areas and said that there was more ureter being used and urged strongly that residents not waste water by allowing it to rung down the gutters. Arey al:io told the Council that it would be necessary to ask that sprinkling at the Fort iVorden Diagnostic &Treatment Center be reduced by about , its 50,E saying that he hated to lose the revenue but must sacrifice the money so that the people r- in affected areas could receive water. City Engineer Becker announced to the Council that a traffic engineer would be in Port Town- send July the 19th and would like to by the Councils permission to discuss now street light , .e>s improvements. All charges filed are made of record at the City Police Court, and are Iik i �sn<, freely available to the public. 2. In certain instances, notably accident reports, the Committee is advised by , the City Attorney that the statutes of the State require that the reports b kept confidential in order not to prejudice the rights of innocent persons. 3. The records submitted to the Committee by the Chief of Police are in order „ and in roper - form.
