Councilman Sullivan said that he had tw� reports but would like to hold them over until
the neat regular session. ... v
As there was no further business to cone before the Council at this time it was moved by
ouncilman Lindsey seconded by Councilman Sullivan that the meeting do now adjourn, upon rol
all vote all councilmen present voted ir the affirmitive and motion declared carried.

Mayor Leighton by letter informed the City Council that she Had appointed Neil Pottho£f
o a 5 year term on the Port Townsend Libi ary Board, off active January 1, 1960, saying that
he appointment fills a vacancy left by he expiration o3'�sorge Lenz era -term.
Mayor Leighton also by letter to the C until said that through the combined efforts of
efferson County Civil Defense Director, Pon Deforest & Fire Chief Bob Jones, the city had
een allocated a navy surplus fire truck hrough the state civil defense department. The
,ruck was-'due'to"tre piak8ti-ems Ilt It6yp8rt 'lednesday, the truck is an American LaFrance, 750 Gal
erminute pumper and about 15 yrs old.

-L The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington met in regular session this
/Ond day of February, 1960, at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chamber o8 the City Hall, Mayor
Leighton presiding.
Because of the absence of the City Clerk, Councilman Siebenbnum moved, seconded by
Councilman Lafferty, that Councilman Swinhoe be appointed Clerk Pro-Tem. Notion carried.
Councilmen 3uinhoe visa so appointed by the Mayor.
ROLL CALL
Officers and members present were as follows: Mayor Leighton, City Attorney Abraham,
Clerk Pro-Tem Swinhoe, and Councilmen Mueller, Sullivan, Lafferty, Avery, Siebenbsum,
Lindsey, Swinhoe. City Clerk Youngblood was absent.
MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS SESSION
The minutes of the previous session were read in full -and it was moved by Council-
man Sullivan, seconded by Councilman Avery, that the minutes be approved as read. ]Lotion
carried.
WATER DEPARTMENT TRUCK BID OPENING
It was moved by Councilmen Siebenbaum, seconded
by Councilman Lindsey, that the reg
order of business be dispensed with in order that bids _:ig}yt be opened at this time.
The following bids for a Water Department Truck were
opened and read:

It was moved by Councilman Mueller, seconded by
Councilman Sullivan that the bid of
Buhler l,otor Company, bding the best and lowest bid,
be accepted. Upon roll call vote,
all seven Councilmen voted in the affirmative and the motion carried.

The following bids for 10,000 feet of 3/4" copper tubing, type K and 1,000 feet of
copper tubing, type K were opened and read:

It was moved by Councilman Mueller, seconded by Councilman Lafferty that the low
bid of 1'estern Utilities Supply Co. be accepted. All Councilmen present voted in the
affirmative, motion carried.
ASBESTOS PIPE BID OPENING
The following bids for 12,000 feet of 4" ID pipe, 8,000 feet of 6" ID pipe, and
7,500 feet of B" ID pipe were opened and read:

Councilman Sullivan moved, seconded by Councilman Lafferty, that the Council recess
