Mayor Leighton and City Councilmen

City hall
wear Madam and Gentlemen:
;:e herewith present our request for permission to move our underground gasoline storage tan s
from their present location near our office to a safer and more logical location 8-feet eas
6'the center line of our 607 ',water Street Building on the Madison Street side. The two
pumps would be located approximately 12-feet east of the building. They would be installed
an a concrete island that would protedt the underground tanks and connecting pipe lines.
In their present position, these tanks are subject to being lifted out of the ground by
extreme high tides, breaking the pipe lines and causing spillage. This would be a hazzard w'
:would be eliminated in the suggested new location.
Very truly yours,
Cottong Engineering
