CALL FOR BIDS
The City Clerk asked permission from the council to call for bids to furnish the various
departments of the City of Port Townsend with their requirements of Gasoline, Diesel Oil and
heating oils for the year commencing February 1, 1960. the bids to be received at the office
of the City Clerk until 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 19th; 1960 and will be opened at the
meeting of the City Council on the evening of that date.
It was moved by Councilman Mueller seconded by Councilman Lafferty that the Clerks
renuested be granted, upon roll call vote all councilmen present voted in the affirmitive
and motion declared carried.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1110,

PASSED BY THE COUNCIL ON DECEMBER 19, 1939,

AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 1172, AND THEREBY
MAKING A CHANGE IN DOMESTIC WATER RATES.
Attorney Abraham said that the above ordinance was repaired in the express desire of the
Council to reduce the water rate to 3.00 even and have the so called package deal on service
of 5.50 beginning the first of the year. The water rates now is 2.25 and for the average
home it will be 3.05 with the additional changes that have been tacked on. What has been

changed is the 2.25 which has been changed to 2.20 that is the only change of any kind in th

Councilman Sullivan ME&= said that now that the water rates had been increased he though

that the city should not charge for sprinkling in the summer months. Mayor Leighton asked
the water Supt. how much revenue came in on the throe months of sprinkling and the amount

that Mr. Arey gave was between 800.00and a 1,000.00. After some discussion on the sprinklin
