Section 1. That the following be and thn same is hereby fixed and adopted as the offici
budget ortWe- City of Port Townsend, '.7nshington, for taxation purposes, for the year 1960,
divided in to the following classes comprising the whole of said budget to -wit:

Section 2: That this ordinance be published once in the Port 'Townsend Leader, to be in
force and talce effect a provided by law. Passed by the Council and approved by the Mayor

Section 1. That the compensation to be paid to the City Treasurer for the four (4) yea

per month for each month served during said term, said term being subject to statutory I

ITE77 & OLD BUSINESS
Ltayor Leighton had the city clerk read a petition that tea presented to the Council at
a regular session on July 21, 1959. Ltayor Leighton called upon persons who objected to
the vacating of the unimproved end of Benton Street between vlashington and the bluff over-
lookinG Plater St. Upon whose objections were by a letter read by the clerk of Chester J. Fli,t
George Steele in persnnwho objected. The petitioners I;r. Addison P. Lewis & Mr James Fuge
said they would improve the street, it vacated, and asked that the City make the improvement
if the Council disapproved the cacatfon for v, driveway reaching the rear of their homes ;:as
needed.
As there were no further objectio:s it visa moved by Councilman Sullivan seconded by
Councilman Lafferty that the petition for vacuting part of said street be denied. Upon roll
call vote all Counciltr.en present voted in the affirmitive and motion declared carried.
iSayor Leighton told L;r. Levris and t,ir Fuge that when the City is able to do so certain
Presently unimproved street will be improved including the one the petitioners were interest d.
i.:a�,or Leighton reminded the Council again in regards to the Reginal & Legislative distric
meetin that would be held here on Oct. 16th at 7 PT.: at the Palms Cafe and all Councilmen
and city officials were invited to attend.

As there was no further business to came before the Council at this time it was moved by
Councilman Lindsey seconded by Councilman Sullivan that the meeting do now adjourn, upon
roll call vote all councilmen present voted in the affirmitive and motion declared carried.
