This estimate includes the replacement of pipe, all services, fire hydrant III valves, and fittings. It is necessary to replace these lines in the near future, to assure water service to our customers, as our present lines arc appro.niutately thirty years old, and i no longer serviceable. Respectfully ours, City Water Department Lyall Arey, '!later Supt. Total Estimate $296,058.97 Mayor Leigton referred the above communication to the entire council for further study. From George L. Dirs: This is an application for permission to place waste pa p,r receptacles on some of you street corners and or parks for the purpose of deeping litter off the streets. I will suply the containers free of charge, and get my pay from advertising on their sides. I will pay to the city $1.00 In r month per can for emptying them, and would ask the city to supe rvise the emptying of them. They will be painted white with various colored lettering so that the will be an attraction as well as an asset in any town or city. They will be bolted dofn, about 18" by 18" and 38" high. I would like a two year contract and expiration at the end ; of that time, subject to renewal if all are satisfied. Any other information you require will be gladly given. Goo. L. THE CITY COT;CIL 0 THE CITY (F PORT TO".';1SEND DO ORDAII: AS FMLLO',7S: Section 1. That there is hereby levied upon all the taxable property in the City of Port Townsend, the fillov.ing sums of money and rates of tax levy for the different purposes herein designated, for the year 1960, and the rate of taxation upon the dollar of assessed valuation of said city for such purposes is as follows: FIRST: For the payment of Current Expenses and f m the Current Expense Fund, the sum of k23,062.71and the reate of tax levy for said fund is hereby fixed at 8.2 mills on the dollar. SECOND: For the purpose of maintaining a public Library and for the Library Fund, the sum of :M8,437.58 and the, rate of tax levy for said fund is hereby fixed at 3.00 mills on the dollar. THIRD: For the purpose of maintaining a Public Park and for the Park Fund, the sum of .5,906.30 and the rate of tax levy for said fund is hereby fixed at 2.1 mills on the dollar. FOURTH, For the maintenance and improvement of the Public Streets of the City and for the City Street Fund, the sum of ;31,968.77 and the rate of tax levy for said fund is hereby fired at .7 mills on the dollar. FIFTH: Fov the Hospitalization and Medical Service of injured paid firomen and for Pensions for the Firemens Relief and Pension Fund, the sum of $2,812.53 and the rate of tax levy for said fund is hereby fixed at 1.00 mills on the dollar. SIXTH: For the Port Townsend General Obligation Bond 1955 and interest, the sum of 5,625.05 and the rate of tax levy for said fund is hereby fixed at 2.00 mills on the dollar. Section 2 That the Mayor and City Clerk of said City are hereby authorized and directed tocert f—ty to the County Auditor and County Assessor of Jefferson County, Washington, the foregoing Tar. Levy of said City. Section 3. That this ordinance be bublished once in the Port Townsend Leader to be in force and take effect as provided by law.
