The City Council of the City of Port Townsend met in regular session this 7th day of July
359, at 7;30 PM in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Mayor Leighton presiding.

It was moved by Councilwoman Avery seconded by Councilman Sullivan that the bills be
anproved as read and that the Mayor and City Clrk be authorized to draw warrants upon the
proper funds for payment of some. Motion carried.

Gentlemen:
For some months last past, sundry persons living in that area of Jefferson
County east of Hndlock and West of the Hordland bridge, commonly (mown and described as the
I I Green Spot, have been continuhlly importuning this Commission for a domostic supply of
water.
Ile have baen in communication with the Navy Department for some time, and the
e United States cannot permit dispersal of water to the area
last advice indicated that th
indicated without consent of the City Council of the City of Port Townsend.
Intere ted as this Commission is in the entire devolopment of Jefferson County
and recongnizing that the Navy Department has abondoned its housing project at or near
Hadlock, why cannot this public body enter into some contract with the City in order to
Drovide water for what an ears to us to be permanent residents of our community?
The contents of this commuhication have been authorized by unanimous vote of _
the commission at its last meeting on June 22, 1959' Respectfully,
