Port Townsend, Washington
Attention Street Committee
Dear Mayor Leighton:
A number of visitors to the Fort Warden Center have commented about the difficulty in
finding the institution, inasmuch as there are no signs posAed showing the direction.
This is to request permission to erect small signs approxmately 4"X24" which point the way
to Fort Warden. We would like to route traffic from the Ferry to Washington Street, an
out to the Center on Walker. The other group of signs we would like to install on the
highway entering town so that people would follow the same route as is designated by the
harbor defense signs. If approval is received we will be glad to place the signs and if
question develops later we will be glad to change them, if the Street Committee would so
desire.
Sincerely yours,
E. G. Lindquist, Superinteddent
