Counci man Seibenbaum absent. 1� BUDGET SESSION Mayor Leighton announced that the purnose of the meeting was for the consideration of the b budget of the City of Port Townsend, as rec;uired by statute and that no other business would - ! be considered at this meeting. ' BUDGET CONSIDERATION ' The Council considered each item of the budget, making changes as necessary, changes to b confirmed after full consideration. CURRENT EXPENSE FUND Under the division General City Government the Item Reimbursement, travel Expense, etc. was reduced from, 400.00 to 200.00. Under the division of the City Clerk the item of Salary Deputy was from 1800.00 to 1200.00 the item of Office Equipment from 50.00 to 25.00. Under the division of City Attorney, the item of Clerk & Steno Services visa reduced from 600.00 to 500.00. the item travel expense from 100.00 to 50.00. Under the division of City Hall Builds g the item Upkeep of Building was reduced from 500.00 to 250.00. Under the Division of the Police Department the item of Emergency Patrolman of 600.00 was deleted, the item of Repairs • & Supplies for Autos from 1400.00 to 1200.00. The item L;isc., Incl. Office & Other Supplies . Travel Expense, Etc. eras reduced from 200.00 to 150.00. The item Traffic Control Signs & supplies of 100.00 was deleted. Under the Division of the Fire Department the itom of Salary Fire Cheif (Full Tine Paid) was reduced from 4800.00 to 720.00. The item of Relief Firemen of 562.75 was deleted. The item of Services, Volunteer Firemen was reduced from 800.00 to 500.00. The item of Firemens Relief & Pension (Volun.) was reduced from 400.00 to 300.00. Un er - The item Capital Outlay, the item of New Hose, 5001 for 1000.00 was deleted the item of Radi for Ladder truck for 500.00 was deleted. Under the division of Garbage Removal Service the item 6f Repairs & Replacements „ns reduced from 500.00 to 250.00. Under Capital Outlay the item Truck & Body for 4000.00 was deleted. OLYiPIC GRAVITY %7ATER FUND lio changes were made in the Olympic Gravity '.'inter Fhnd LIBRARY FUND Under the division of the Public Library -`Taupe the item of Salary, Librarian was induced from 4200.00 to 3900.00, the item Emergency & Vacation help was reduced from 500.00 to 250.0 , the item Books (Purchase ;iew) was reduced from 1400.00 to 1200.00, the item heating building urns reduced from 650.00 to 550.00, the item Building Repairs, Replacements & Improvements was reduced from 500.00 to 250.00. PARK FUIiD Under the division of the Park Fund the item Salary, Assistant was reduced from 1500.00 Ito 750.00, the item of Tools & Supplies for Maintenance & Improvements to Grounds & Building was reduced from 800.00 to 700.00. The Item of henlacement & Addition to Park Tables & Benches, of 100.00 was deleted. CITY STREET FUFID Under the division of the City Street Fund the item of ;;ages, for Labor vras reduced from 6500.00 to 5100.00. The item of Repairs & Replacements was raised from 1500.00 to 2000.00. Under Capital Outlay the item of Nea Truck, Guard Hail & Oilin of 4500.00 was lowered to 500.00 the 500.00 visa added to the above repairs & replacements. Firemens Relief and Pension Fund f • iFiremens Relief and Pension Fund was unchanged. PORT T0711:SEIfD GENERAL OBLIGATIOII BOIIDS 1955 i Port Townsend General Obligation Bonne 1955, unchanged. CHANGRS CONFIRL%;D & BUDGET ADOPTED It was moved by Councilman Mueller and Seconddd by Councilman Avery that the changes nova be confirmed and that the Budget now be adopted. Upon roll call vote all six councilme - present voted in the affirmitive and motion carried. PREpahAT oll OF ORDINANCES It was moved by Councilman Mueller and seconded by Councilman Lafferty that the City Attorney prepare the necessary ordinances. Upon roll call vote all six councilmen present opted in the affirmitive and motion carried. ADJOURNL:ENT Consideration and adoption of the Budget having been completed, it was moved by Councilor Sullivan nn seconded by Councilman Svrinhoe that the meeting adjourn. Upon roll call vote all six councilmen present voted in thu affirmitive and motion carried, / ATTEST: / �1 11 MINUTES OF THE REUULAR OF OCTOB_R 7, 1958 October 7, 1958 Port Townsend 104'ashington The City Clerk informed the Council that due to the absence of the Liayor and Mayor Protem Siebenbaum that the council would have to appoint a Mayor Pro-tem for this regular session. Councilman Dueller made a motion and seconded by Councilman Svrinhoe to appoint Councilman Sullivan as mayor Pro-tem for this regular session. Upon roll call vote all six Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion carried. ROLL GALL Officers and members present were as follows: Mayor pro-Tem Sullivan, City Attorney Abraham, City Clerk Youngblood, Councilmen Svrinhoe, Lindsey, Avery, Lafferty and Councilman Mueller. Mayor Leighton and Councilman Siebenbaum Absent. ILINUTES OF PREVIOUS SESSIOI: The minutes of the previous session were read in full, and it was moved by Councilman Lindsey and seconded by Councilman Avery that the minutes be approved as read and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign same. Upon roll call vote all five:: Councilmen present voted in the affirmitive and motion carried. APPROVED BILLS AND CLAIIdS Approved bills and claims an audited by the Finance Committee for the month of September 1958 were presented and read.
