was vacated that half went to both parties concerned. Councilman Mueller said that a house
had been built years ago which extended upon part of the street and some time ago wigs sold
through a GI Loan and at that t e the City Attorney said that half of the street could be
vacated. City Attorney Abrahamwhat there is no such thing as the vacation of half a atree
from the canter line to one side. Attorney Abraham also said that Mr. Eollme had no right
in opening the street that he was not in any way connected with the street department and
that he would get in touch with Mr. Follme. DiU16YOMIgBTJ dKidity Attorney Abraham also adde4
that vacating half a street is, in his opinion most illegal, because it would be discrimina'
to void half a street, giving that half to the owner of property on that side and not do th(
same for the flvner of property on the other side. Mayor Leighton instructed the Council
street committee and the street superintendent to make a thorough investigation and bring
a recommendation for action to the Next Council meeting. Mrs Lee Davis, chairman of the
Park board said that she would like to have the caretaker of the park depuit):zed by doing
so would give the caretaker more authority on order in the park. Mrs Davis also gave a
report on the conditions of the park and that the bandstand in i:he park was of historical
value and shoitild be obtained and could be on the present budget. Mayor Leighton thanked
Mrs Davis on her report. Councilman Lindsey reported upon the rooms at the Fire Hall KM
upon which had been requested for in the comming election. Councilman Lindsey said that
one room was available and after some disscussion it was decided upon that the Bee. room
could be used for counting of the ballots.
Mayor Leighton asked Mr. Cook iH he was satisfied of the action of the Council on the
street situation. Mr. Cook said he would hold off on all operations until a decision was
reached by the Stmeet Committee.
.ADJOURNMENT
As there was no further business to come before the Council at this time, it was moved
by Councilman Siebenbaum and seconded by Councilman Sullivan that the meeting adjourn. Upon
roll call vote all mix councilmen present voted in the affirmative,' Motion carried.
