COI,i:SUNICATIONS From Mildred Kingsbury (Mrs. S.A.) to -wit: Port Townsend, Washington October 21,1957 City Council Port Townsend, xw 7 u 'Iieshington t . r Gentlemen: fr ' : In view of the unfortunate accident vinich occured near the intersection of Monroe and Lincoln Streets in the City of Port Tovnserd or_ the 19th day of October, 1957, the result of which the life of a small innocent child nay be lost, I would like to make f certain suggestions. 1. There is no posted spend si-n on :Conroe Street, and we believe one should be supplied. a,+ 2. There should be a slow and/or CHILDREN CR055211G sign et Monroe and Lincoln ,< O Streets since this is the point wfnere children going to and coming from school partially cross the intersection. 41 a 3. Perhaps a four-way stop might be made of the intersection at Blaine and 11onroe Streets. ` c -T offer these suggestions orly in a constructive manner since I have lived in a house that borders on ICorroe Street for some time last past. I am the mother of small ! children and I am aware of the many cars that use this street for a speedway. By properly posting this street in tho manner above suggested perhaps t'r.e life of s child may be saved or serious injury to some person avoided. „ In any event, I will appreciate any consideration thst may be given on this natter F s. {{ Respectfully yours, o ^ (s)1"ldred Kin:,nbury (.Cgs. S.I:.) after some general discussion the matter was referred to the Streets & Sewers Committee end it was moved by Councilman Steve and seconded by Courcilron Siebanbawn that the City Clerk answer Mrs. Kingsbury's letter and inform her of tl:e action taken.
