i It was moved by Councilman Steve and seconded by Councilman Avery that the offer of
Puget Sound Power and Light Co. to install Street Lights be accepted. Upon roll call vote
all six Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion carried,

The request of the Port Commiss ion of Port ^_ovinsend was discussed for installation
of a street light at the foot of Water Street near the entrance to Point Hudson and it
_! was moved by Councilman Siebenhaum and seconded by Councilman Stevo that the request be
1 granted. Upon roll call vote all six Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and
motion carried.
The subject of the City's option on victor from the Dosewallips River was briefly
discussed and Councilman Siebenbaws agreed to look into the situation and report at a
1 laterCdehoilman Steve showed the Council a copy of Seattlets Building Code and drew their
attention to the length of the code and the multitude of subjects covered under it. He
stated that it would take quite a while to draw one up for the City.
Street Supt. Arey reported to the Council that with the oxception of Jackson & Monroe i
f Street8, which he expected to finish in side of two weeks he had completed all oiling fob
the year. a informed the Council that a shipment of Hot -Mix visa coming into the City soon
! and ti,st he expected to purchase several tons with the remainder of the oiling monies in _
the bud,et to fir certain weak spots thrdughout, the city. i

As there was no further business to come before the Council at this time it was moved
by Councilman Siehenbaum. and seconded by Councilmen Steve that the meeting adjourn.Motion
carried.

The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington met in regular session, this
3rd day of September, 1957, at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hell, Mayor
Pro-tem Dennis Sullivan presiding.
ROLL CALL
Officers and Members present were as follows: Mayor Pro-tem Sullivan, City Clerk Ryan
and Councilmen Mueller, iveryt,Siebenbaum,Lindsey , Sullivan, Steve and Ellis.

The minutes of the previous session were read 9., fuI3 end it was moved by Councilmen
Mueller and seconded by Councilman Ellis that the ininuteb>be-ppproved as reed end that the
Wayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign same. Upon roll call vote all Seven Councilmen
present voted in the affirmative and motion carried.

It visa moved by Councilman Avery and seconded by Councilmen Lindsey that the bills be
approved as read and that the "ayor and City Clerk be authorized to draw warrants upon the
proper funds for payment of same. Upon roll call vote all seven Councilmen present -voted
in the affirmative and motion carried.
City Attorney Abraham entered the Chambers at about this time end participated in the
remainder of the meeting.
udaynr George Bangerter who had arrived during the reading of the minutes and had
presided -.until this time , now called Mayor Pro -tam Sullivan to the Chair and requested
the Mayor Pro-tem to take over for the rest of the meeting.
BUILDING PERMITS
After some little discussion as to the advisability of the City having and Ordinance
covering building permits, it was moved by Councilman Steve and seconded by Councilman
Avery that the City :Attorney draw up an Ordinance requiring building permits. Upon roll
call vote all seven Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion carried.'
The following Building permits were presented and rend:

Doris F. Haug, Erect Tool Shed with attached Patio,201 X 201,Pre-fab Steel Frame Shed,
and Brick Patio, 620 Pierce, $590.00

It was moved by Councilman Steve and seconded by Councilman Ellis that the Building
permits be granted. Upon roll call vote all seven Councilmen present voted in the affir-
mative and motion carried.
