Councilman Steve informed the Council that he thought the Council was taking action oo quickly on some of the building permits and after a little discussion by the Council, t vies moved by Councilman Steve and seconded by Councilman Avery that in the future all uilding permits be referred to the Building and Miss. Committee. Upon roll call vote all even Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion carried. There was some discussion of the need for a build - COMMUNICATIONS ing code,and Mayor Pro -tam Sullivan requested Councilman Steve to Draw From Port Commis a ion, Port Townsend to -wit: one up for the City. Councilman Steve agreed. August 6, 1957 City Council Port Townsend Washington Gentlemen: The Port Commission of the Port of Port Townsend ronpectfully submits their request for a street light to be placed at the foot of Water Street at the entrance to the Point Hudson Boat Haven. There are now many transient boats in the Point Hudson Haven and when coming to and from their bonts at night it is too dark for one block for safe travel. ORDINANCES _ADTD RESOLUTIONS Ordinance No. 1336 Proposed Ordinance No. 1336 vies read to the Council for the first time at the regular acting of July 16, 1957 and is entered in the minutes of that meeting. iECOND AND THIRD READINGS It vies moved by Councilman Mueller and seconded by Councilman Siebonbaum that the first ending be considered the second reading and that the third reading be by title only, Upon all call vote all seven Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion carried. AWARD OF CONTRACT W.T.R NO.2 City Engineer lq'ilder who had been studing the various bids on Contract W.T.R. No.2, during the business of the Council now reccommended to the Council that the bid of Cotton Engineoring and Shipbuilding Corporation being the lowest and beat bid for the City that the Council accept that Corporations bid. It was moved by Councilman Mueller and seconded by Councilmen Ellis that the bid of Cotton Engineering and Shipbuilding Corporation be accepted. Upon roll call vote all seven Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion carried. UNFINNISHED AND ITPl BUSINESS City Attorney Abraham informed the Council that the Hanson Construction Co. was taking steps to remedy the complaints previously received against Hanson Construction Co. on the Citys Distribution System. Its also reported on the Claim of the Olympic Gas and Appliance Co. against the City and ndvisnd the Council to reject the claim. It was moved by Councilman Steve and seconded by Councilman T?ueller that the Claim be rejected. Upon roll call vote all sevon Councilmen voted in the affirmative and motion rarried. Councilman Steve reported that he had as vet not boon able to complete investigation of Lester H. Hall' request to lay a Sewer line from 59th and hill along Kuhn street but would report at A later meeting. It was moved by Councilman Steve and seconded by Councilman Mueller that all the building permits presented this date be granted.
