It UNFINISHED AND E117 BUSINESS 1� 9i City Attorney Abrnham reported to the Council that tie had been approached by Mr. Robert Cook auestioning if that portion of 57th vecnted under Ordinance No.1273 which vacated only one half of the street, wheather or not the other half belonged to him or if he could have it vacated. He advised that it vies a legal problem and that he did not know if it was legal to vacate half of a street. Aftor some discussion it wns decided to maintain the status -quo. Mayor Bangerter announced at this time that Garbage Supt. Haugen was resigning effective August 1, 1957, end that he had appointed Mr. Joseph Maroldo as the new Garbage Supt. f Councilman Lindsay informed the Council that he had spoken to a teacher about irit?tions and that he had been informed that initiations were positively out on school grounds. ADJOURNMENT As there was no further business to come before the Council at this time it was moved by Councilman Siebenbaum and seconded by Councilman Steve that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried. ROLL CALL Upon roll call vote ,Officers and Members nrosent were nn follows: Mayor Pro -tom Dennis Sullivan, City Attorney Abraham, City Clerk Ryan and Councilmen Steve, Ellis, ISueller, Avery, Siebenbaum, Lindsey and Sullivan. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS SESSION Tho minutes of the previous session were read in full and it was moved by Councilman Mueller and seconded by Councilmen Lindsey that the minutes be approved as read and that the Mayoy and City Clerk be authorized to sign same. Upon roll call vote all seven Council- men present voted in the affirmative end motion carried. A11PROV= BILLS AFD CLA.IEF. Upon roll call vote all seven Councilman present voted in the affirmative and notion carried. It was moved by Councilman 1luoller and seconded by Councilman Ellis that the regular order of business be suspended so that the Council could consider the bids for Contract ii.T.R. No.? Taylor Ranch and rest Ranch. Upon roll call vote all seven Councilmen present voted in the nffirmative and motion carried. CONSIDERATION OF BIDS 7/.T.R. N0. 2, As this was the time and place for the opening of the bids for Contract VI.T.R. No 2, bids wer:e opened as follows: Cheney Construction Co, Seattle. .S,54,202.86 Cotton Eng. &. Louis Elterich, Port Angeles 42,942.60 Consolidated Construction Co, Olympin 66,559.55 City En;;i.neer wilder asked for permission to leave the chambers and examine the bids, and permission being granted Mayor Pro -tern Sullivan ordered the resomation of the regular order of business. .AP?LICATION FOR TAXICAB DRIVERS LICENSE An application for a Taxicab Drivers License for Kenneth R. Hancock was presented and read. The Clerk informed the Council that the $3.00 license fee lied been paid but that as yet the license had not been approved by the Chief of Police. It vies moved by Councilman muellor and seconded by Councilman Siebenbaum that upon the approval of the Chief of Police the License be Srentod. Upon roll call vote all seven Councilmen presented voted in the affirmative and motion carried.
