The City Council of the City Of Port Townsend, Washington, mot in regular session
cis 2nd day of July. 1957, at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City "all, Mayor
Sorge Bangerter presiding.
ROLL CALL
Officers and members present were as follows: Mayor Bangerter, City Attorney Abraham,
ity Clerk Ryan and Councilmen Sullivan, Lindsay, Stove, Ellis, Mueller and Siobenbauun.
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS SESSION
The minutes of the prev.1ouus session were road in full and it was moved by Councilman
uellor and seconded by Councilman Sullivan that the minutes be approved as road and that
he Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign same. Upon roll cell vote all six Councilmen
resent voted in the affirmative nod motion carried.
APPROVED BILLS AND CLAIMS
Approved bills and claims as audited by the -Finance Conunittee for June, 1957, were
resented and read. ( Soo vouchers for month of June 1957).

It was moved by Councilman Sullivan and seconded by Councilman Siebonbaum that the
3ills be approued as read and that the Maypr and City Clerk be authorized to draw warrants
upon the proper funds for payment of same. Upon roll call all six Councilmen present
voted in the affirmative and motion carried.
APPLICATION FOR TAXICAB DRIVER'S LICENSE
An noplication for a taxicab Driver's license for Irvan E. Srinpson was presented and
Road: Thin Clerk informed the Council that tho ,$3.00 license foe had been paid but that as
Tat it had not been approved by the Chief of Police, It was moved by Councilman Sullivan
and seconded by Councilman Siebenbaum that upon approval of the Chief of Police the License
be granted. Upon roll call veto all six Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and
motion carried.

The City Clark reported the regular salary warrants for the month of June, 1957,
follows:

The Troasurer's report for the month of Juno, 1957, was reed and wasondered referred
to the Finance Committee.

The following building permits wore presented and rend:

It wan moved by Councilman Siebenbaum and seconded by Councilman Steve that the
building permits be granted. Upon roll call vote all six Councilman present voted in the
affirmative and motion carried.

RESOLUTION NO. 57-6
WIEREAS THE City Water Superintendent has requested that certain funds within the
epic Gravity hater Fund be transferred from the System Fund and Cumulative Reserve Fund
the Water Construction Find under Ordinance No. 1330, and
WHEREAS it appears rendonable and necessary that the requested transfer of funds be
a in order that authorized work now under construction may be completed;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council in regular meeting assembled:
That the City T easurer is hero and hereby authorized and directed to transfer the
of Fifty Thousanrd Dollars ( $50,000.00) from the Olympic Gravity '.;star System Fund to
Water Construction Fund under Ordinance 1330, and
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that the City Treasurer be and hereby is authorized and directed
transfer the sum of Thirty -Three Thousand Dollars ($33,000.00) from the Olympic Gravity
or System Cumulative reserve Fund to the Water Construction Fund under Ordinance No.
0, and
LASTLY, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Water Superintendent be and hereby is authorized
directed properly to expend the funds herein transferred to the said Water Construction

RESOLUTION IIO. 57-7
WHEREAS numerous complaints have been received by the City of Port Townsend and its
Officers concerning th emisconduot and violation inflow by certain students of Port
owrnsend High School at the beginning of the summer school vacation in 1957,and
WHEREAS the said City and its Officials and Officers have been embarrassed and concernel
y charges that there was not adequAte protection afforded by the said City in preventing
ate of vandalism and disorder against persons and property in the circumstances referred to
NOVI; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Port
ownsend, Washington, in regular meeting assembled;
That it be and hereby is recommended that the Port Townsend School Hoard and its
ifficers provide for supervised and controlled initiation proceedures within the framework
if the school program, to the end that future misconduct at summer recess by students under
,he jurisdiction of the said School Board be reduced to a practical minimum.

CALL FOR BIDS
Notice is hereby given that the City of Port Townsend, Washington will receive sealed
roposals up to 5:00 P.T.T. on Tuesday, August 6, 1957, at the Office oft he City Clerk,Port
Townsend, Washington, to be opened at the regular meetin of the City Council, to be held
upon that date for furnishing all labor, tools, equipment and supplies for trenching,
ackfilling, installing, coupling, testing and connecting ready for service, the following
material furnished by the City of Port Townsend and delivered to the Contractor at trench
site:
The Major items of l'lorlc will be: Trenching and laying 6880 Lin. Feet of 30 inch M.D.
Steel Pipe, Trenching and laying 7800 Lin. Ft. of 28 inch I.D. Steel Pipe and other items
of work.
Each bid shall be in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract
documonta now on file in the office of the City Cleric at Port Townsend, Washington, where
copies may be obtained by depositing the sum of ten dollars ($10.00) for each sot. Deposit
will be refunded upon the return of the plans and specifications in good condition.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond made
payable to the order of the City Treasurer of Port Tornsond, in the sun of 6; of the amount
