From Crown Zellerbach Corporation to -wit: June 4, 1957 Honorable Mayor and City Council City of Port Townsend, Washington Gentlemen: A recent survey of housing facilities in the City of Port Townsend and immediate vicinity discloses no critical shortage insofar as the employees of Crown are concerned. For this reason weask to be relieved from going thru with the purchase of Block 3, Mountain View Addition, commonly known as"Sather Park" and request the return of the 61,000.00 tendered with our bid. Abraham Notary Public in and for the State Of Washington, residing at Port Townsend, NOTICE OF HEARING APPLICATION FOR VACATION OF PORTION OF STREET NOTICE. IS HEREBY GIVEN: That Lester H. Hall, Leta C. Hall, R.C. Peters Sr. and Eliza Peters City of Port Townsend, Jefferson County, has filed in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Port Townsend, an application for the vacation of a portion of street in the.City of Port Townsend as follows: That portion of 59th Street lying between Lots 4,5 & 6, Block 51, and lots 1,2 and 3, Block 46,California Addition to the City of Port Townsend, State of Washington. And that said application will be heard in the Council Chamber of the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at the City Hall on Tuesday, the 4th day of June 1957, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. Ryan C y r After quite dome discussion by the Council, City Attorney Abraham, County Assessor Sofia and Attorney Forrest for the applicants, it was moved by Steve and seconded by Councilman Mueller that the vacation be granted. Upon roll call vote Councilmen Siebenbaum, Sullivan and Ellis voted no to the application and Councilmen Lindsey, Steve and Mueller voted yes. It being a tie vote Mayor Bangerter cast his vote as yes to the vacation and declared the motion carried. UNFIPRTISHED AITD NEW BUSINESS Councilman Sullivan recommended that the fire department bring some fire hose dorm to the Former Hudson Point property during the Regatta for the protection of sailboats. Councilman Siebenbaum mamber of the Volunteer fire department suggested that the rec- ommendation be passed on to the Fire Chief. Mayor Bangerter announced that it was necessary for two Official Delegates to be elected to represent the City at the Washington Association of Citie's Regional Meeting at Bellim;ham on June 6,7 & Bth, and Volunteer to go as on Delegate. After a poll of City Officials it was tentitively agreed if he could make arrngements Councilman Sullivan would The the second Delegate. It was moved by Councilman Mueller and seconded by Councilman Steve That Mayor Bangerter and Councilmen Sullivan be elected as Official Delegates to the Meeting. Artier snide geriaral discussion as to the necessity of an Ordinance concerning the roc ° Vacation of 59th Street, it was moved by Councilman Mueller and seconded by Councilman Steve that the City Attorney draw up an ordinance for that purpose and that the Petitioners � pay all costs of the Vacation.
