As this was the time for the opening of the bids for the Gravity Transmission line
eplacement Contract W.T.R. No. 1 of 1957, bids were opened as follows:

The bids were referred to the City Engineer for study and later recommendation.
SYSTEM
DISTRIBUTIOCONTRACT AWARDED
City Engineer Wilder recommended to the Council that the study of the bids for the
City's Distribution System Contract W.D.R. #1 , showed that the Hanson Construction Co.
of Seattle, Wash, being the lowest and best bid for the City of Port Townsend, that the
City accept the Hanson bid: It was moved by Councilman Siebenbaum and seconded by
Councilman Sullivan that the City accept the bid of Hanson Construction Co. and that
deposit checks and bonds be returned to the unsucessful bidders,.Upon roll call vote all
seven Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion carried.
After some discussion of the Claim of Louis Elterich Co. of Port Angeles of the City
owing the Firm a certain amount of sales tax on Contract No. I.YSL-#4, The City Attorney
advised the Council that the matter be tabled until the Claim was satisfactory.
A motion was made by Councilman Sullivan and seconded by Councilman Avery that the
City Attorney write a letter to the property owner at pecks camp , instructing him to
tear down the partially burned buildings at the Auto Court and clean up the area. Upon
roll call vote all seven Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Steve and seconed by Councilman Sullivan that the
Present Sewer hook-up ordinance be amended so as to raise the hook-up price to $75.00 .
Upon roll call vote all seven Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion
carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Steve seconded by Councilman Sullivan that any new
requests for sewers have an inspector on the job. Upon roll call vote all seven Councilmen
present voted in the affirmative and motion earried.Mayor Bangerter appointed Councilmen
Steve,Lindsey and Mueller on a Committee for the Purchase of Flags for the Council Chamber
ADJOURNMENT
As there was no further business to come before the Council at this time, it was
moved by Councilman Steve ans seconded by Councilman Siebenbaum that the meeting adjourn.
Motion carried.

The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, met in regular sess&on
:his 7th day of May, 1957, Rt 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Mayor
:eorge Bangerter presiding.
ROLL CALL
Officers and members present were as follows: 'Aayor George Bangerter, City .Attorney
Abraham, City Clerk Ryan and Councilmen Ellis, Mueller, Avery, Siebenbaum and Steve.
;ouncilmon Sullivan arrived during thereading of the minutes and participated in the re-
nainder of the meeting.
MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS SESSION
The minutes of the previous session were read in full and it was moved by Councilman
Mueller and seconded by Councilman Sullivan that the minutes be approved
as read and that
the "layor and City Clerk be authorized to sign same. Up&n roll call vote
all six Council-
men present voted in the affirmative and motion carried.
APPROVED BILLS AND CLAIMS
Approved bills and claims as audited by the Finance Committee for the month of April,
1957 were presented and read. ( See Vouchers for the month of :April, 1957.)

It was moved by Councilman Avery and seconded by Councilman Sullivan that the bills
approved as read and that the Mayor And City Clerk draw warrants upon the proper funds
payment of some. Upon roll call vote all six Councilmenj present voted in the affir-
ive and motion carried.
