UNFINNISHED AND NEW BUSINESS After a little discussion by members of the Council and the City Attorney on the prospective Ordinance concerning future hook-ups on the 19th Street Sewer, Mayor Bangerter referred the matter to the Streets and Sewer Committee and the City Attorney. As there was no further business to come before the Council at this tmme, It was moved by Councilman Steve and seconded by Councilman Siebenbaum that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried. Port Townsend, Washington February 19, 1957 The City Council of the City -of Port Townsend, Washington, met in regular session' this 19th day of February, 1957, at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Mayor George Bangerter presiding. ROLL CALL Officers and Members present were as follows: Mayor George Bangerter, City Attorney Abraham, City Clerk Ryan and Councilmen ,Avery Siebenbaum,-Sullivan, Lindsey, Steve, Ellis and Mueller. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS SESSION The minutes of the previous session were read in full and it was moved by Councilman Ellis and seconded by Councilman Lindsey that the minutes be approved as read and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign same. Upon roll call vote all seven Coun- cilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion carried. APPLICATION FOR TAXICAB DRIVERS LICENSE An application for a Taxicab drivers license for Dorothy A. Northup was presented and read. The Clerk informed the Council that the $3.00 license fee had been paid but that as yet the application had not been approved by the Chief of Police. It was moved by Councilman Mueller and seconded by Councilman Siebenbaum that upon approval by the Chief of Police the application be granted. Upon roll call vote all seven Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion carried. REPORT OF OFFICERS Chief of Police The Chief of Police report for the month of February, 1957 was read and was odered filed. BUILDING PERMIT The following building permit was presented and read: C.E. Hanby, Erect Dwelling with attached garage,291 X 581,.Frame* 1508 Madison,$4,000. It was moved by Councilman Sullivan and seconded by Councilman Lindsey that the building permit be granted. Upon roll call vote all seven Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion carried. TEAR DOWN PERMIT R.D. Benson, Tear down Garage and use lumber to build addition to home, "F" & Albert Streetws, 121 X 14+, Frame, I will comply with all the provisions of Ordinance No. 907. It was moved by Councilman Lindsay and seconded by Councilmen Siebenbaum that the tear downg permit be granted. Upon roll call vote all seven Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion carried. COMMUNICATIONS From Federated Women's Club to -wit: Port Townsend, 'Nash. Feb.15, 1957 The City Council Port Townsend, Wakh. Dear Mayor and Council Members; Science, Literature and Art Club of Federated Women's Club wishes to go on record as requesting an Ordinance to prohibit placing quistionable comic books, periodicals, and pictures for sale on news stands and in the stores of Port Townsend, This Club is working in conjunction with law enforcement officers of Jefferson County, with the Churches and Clubs of the City that are taking measures to prevent ,the youth of the community from purchasing such material which undoubtedly is a detriment to building moral character.
