It was moved by Councilman Steve and seconded by Councilman Avery that the Resolution do now pass. Upon roll call vote all seven Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion carried. From Port Townsend Garden Club to -wit: 805 "M" St. Port Townsend, Wash. January 18, 1957 Mayor George Bangerter and Members of the City Council Port Townsend, Wash. -Gentlemen: The members of the Port Townsend Garden Club wish to bring to your attentio the vandalism around the recreation center. The evergreen tree planted there several y a ago has been broken and will have to be removed. The shrubbery is also being destroyed. (�)' The club has spent quite a a= of money to beautify the grounds: Is there anything that the City Government can do to prevent more destruction? Mayor Bangerter said that the letter should be referred to the School District, UNFINNISHEDD AND NEW BUSINESS It was moved by Councilman Steve and seconded by Councilman Lindsey that the request of Ammeter Oil co. to install two 40,000 gallon fuel oil storage tanks within their t-nk yard be granted. Upon roll call vote all seven Councilmen present Voted in the affirmative and motion carried. Councilman Steve intaaduced a rough draft of a proposed ordinance to up the cost of sewer connections from $40.00 to $60.00 , After some little discussion the matter was referred to the Street and Sewer Committee and the City Attorney. Councilman Siebenbaum explained to the Council that in regards to the Water Replacement of the City's distribution system that money was tight and'intoreat rates were going up, and that the water committee and the Water Superintendent had discussed the program at great length and that the had dedided'to replace the 10", 12" and 16" into the resovoir at an approximate cost"of $160.000.00. It was moved by Councilman Siebenbaum and seconded by Councilman Steve that the City Engineer be granted permission to draw up the plans and specifications for the replacement.project.( Upon roll call vote all seven Councilmen resent voted in the affirmati a and motion carried. With the use of money presently on hand Se bond issue would amount to *100.000.00 ADJOURNMENT „a there -was no further business to come before the Council at this time it was moved by Councilman Steve and seconded by Councilman Siebenbaum that the meeting adjourn. Port Townsend, Washington February 5, 1957 The City Council of the City of'Port Townsend, Washington, met in regular session this 5th day of February .1957, At 7;30 P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Mayor George Bangerter preshding. ROLL CALL Officers and Members present were as follows: Mayor "eorge Bangerter,City Attorney Abraham, City Clerk Ryan and Councilmen Mueller, Avery, Siebenbaum, Sullivan, Lindsey, Steve and Ellis. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS SESSION The minutes of the previous session were read in full,and it was moved by Councilman Mueller and second d by Councilman Ellis that the 3nihiiteh7:be•approved as read and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign same. Upon rollcall vote all seven Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and -motion carried. APPROVED BILLS JAND CLAIMS Approved bills and claims as audited by the Finance Committee for January,1957 were presented and read.(See vouchers for the month of January,1957) Current Expense Fund $2,374.92 01. Cotton Engineering and Shipbuilding Corporation: 8th and Pre Final W.S.L. #2 East -Dam - Lord1s Lake $2,954.26 Crown Zellerbaoh Corporation: To repay monies advanced by Crown Zellerbach for, Engineering charges and other costs incidental to the acquisition, Construction and Installation of such Additions, Betterments, Improvements, Replacements and Extensions, all as per City Ordinance #1.321-January 17, 1956. $101,064.50 Rhodes Electric Company WSL-1 Cathodic Protectioh Final Estimate. 6116.67 It was moved -by Councilman Avery and seconded by Councilman Lindsey that the bills be approved as read and that the -Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to draw warrants upon the prpoer funds for payment of same. Upon roll call vote all seven Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion carried.
