I, idss. lmma Hansen presently residing at Ferndale, vlashington, make claim for
Injuries Lid damages of the town of Port To•nsend in .the sum of r500.00 as a result of an ,• k .w r , w4I,
accident
which occured at approximately 2:30 o'clock P.I.I. on the 17th day of August,1956. s}J,j + „, ,.: , •
The place of the accident was on ;Suter Street it Port Townsend, Washington. ,r •'°{}a
The location of the defect which caused my injury* was a break or a hold in the %ks.•_ 1, , , Y
cement surface of the sidewalk on il'abor Street, which brealt of which condition caused a '{{
portion of the sidewnlh to be approximately 20; inches from the normal sidewalks surface, :
in the form of a depression or an elevation dependin,- upon which way you approached the
condition. The defect which caused my injury wes this condition in the surface of the"4C'1T
s idevralk on ::star St.
The injuries of which I complain as a result of this accident, were a broken rib,
an injured right shoulder, a left knoo injured, a crushed nerve under tha rib, and I cut4I_;,,`,
the top off the little finger of my left Land.. In addition to these injuries to me, Is`{i.` _L \
broke my glasses and dnmeged my stockings or hose, damaged my gloves and my hat and
caused my clothing to be soiled. `4 `
The Lets of negligence of which I complain is the failure of the City to properly '
maintain its sidewalks against those defects described above.
This nccidnnt occured In the following manner: While waiting for the ferry and with
my our parked nnpr the ferry landing I went shopping for a gift. I purchased the gift
and had the package in my arms and vies walking along ',later Street, toward the. ferry
Ij landing where my car was parked, when I came upon the condition complained of above,
ii without seeing or being aware of it as a defect at that time. I stepped into the condition_ -,,. sin
Ij or collided with it In such a way in the normal walking that it, in affect, tripped me - ` .. 1
causing me to fall and do the damage and suffer the injuries complained if above. ;
