THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITO OF PORT TO'WNSEND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section I That the following be, and the same is hereby fixed and ndoptod as the official budget of the City of Port Townsend for taxation purposes, divided into the total amounts in each of the following classes comprising the wholo of said budget,to-writ: Salaries and Wnges............................................$122,765.00 Operation and Maintenance..................................0.. 87,140.06 Capital outlay..... .. ... ......... .................0.. 6,462.50 Firomen's Retiroment nnd'Ponsion.............................. 3,500.29 General Obligation Bond redemption 1955 and interest.......... 7,414.24 Section II That this Ordinance bo published once in the Pont Townsend Leader, to be in force and take effect as provided by law. Rvan City Clerk It was moved by Councilman Siebenbeum and seconded by Councilman Sullivan that the first reading be considered the second reading and that the third reading be by title only. Upon roll call vote all seven Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion oarried. THIRD READING AND PASSAGE Ordinance No. 1328 vras read for the third time by title only and it was moved by Councilman Sullivan and seconded by Councilman Avery that the Ordinance do now pass. Upon roll call vote all seven Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion carried. UN'FINNISHED AND NEW BUSINESS At this time Mayor Bangerter announced that he was appointing Mr. Art Carney of the (Jackie Gleason Program) an honorary member of the Port Townsend Sewer Department in reconition of his great efforts on Television in the interests of Sewage, Sewers and Sewermen through the United States. Cou:'.cilman Sullivan asked Ydayor Bangerter if it would be alright for the Easements for the 19t1 Street Sewer Project could be made out to the City of Port Townsend, Mayor Bangerter referred the question to the City Attorney M.r. Stevens and the City ,attorney informed Councilman Sullivan that it would be intirely proper to do so. Councilman Muellor moved that the City Tronsurer's letter previously read be consid ered now as it was only a continuation of previous City business transacted. He then moved that the City Tressurer's request be granted. The motion was seconded by Councilman Avery and upon roll call vote all seven Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion carried. Councilman Steve made a motion that the Trailer Park at Chetzamoka Park be discon- tinued for the reasons that it would inhance the looks of the Park and also that the City should not continue in business against private enterprise. He pointed out that a trailer park had been established in the Hilltop area and Another one was contemplated ill the San Juan ,area end reccommended that the City withdraw from compitition with these interests. He further moved that the present tonnents be notified to evacuate by January 1,1957 and that no new tennonts be accepted. After some discussion in which Councilman LYueller informed the Council that the Park Board operated independently from the City and that the proper action of -the Council would be to recommend to the Park Board that they withdraw l_om compitition with outside interests in regards to trnilor Parks. Councilman Stevens motion was withdrawn and rephrased that the Council recommend to the Park Board that they discontinue operation of the Trailer Park so as to enhance the looks of the Park Area and end compitition with private interests. The motion was seconded by Councilman Avery and upon roll call vote all seven Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion carried, A motion :van made by Councilman Steve that the Council rewind Ordinance Ito. 1250 and create a now Ordinance raising the City Troasurer's Salary -for the term commencing in June 1960. The motion died for lack of a second when Mayor Bangorter pointed out that an Ordinance at this time would be pro -mature in that the Council might want to raise the Treasurer's Salary more in June of 1960 then they would like to At present and also that an Ordinance at `his time without point mould be a useless waste of City Monies. ADJOURINa-:NT As there :vas no further business to come before the Council at this time it was moved by Councilman Siebenbeum and seconded by Councilman Ellis that the mooting adjourn.
