MINUTES OF REGULAR SESSION OF,JUNE 19 1956 CONTINUED.
UNFINNISHED AND NEW BUSINESS
Councilman Siabanbaum informed the Council that City Engineer Jones had made a
report at a previous session and that the report as yet Thad not been accepted by the
Council. The report was about the replacement of the City Water Distribution lines and
the approximate cost thereof. It was moved by Councilman Siebenbaum and seconded by ":'aiYh,p r xar c
Councilman Mueller that the City Engineerrs report be accepted sothat the City Engineer'hfa_,�
and CityAttorney could proceed with the bond issue and the replacement prmgram. Upon

roll call vote all five Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion carried, k pf ( 7
Councilman Siebenbaum also reported on the letter the Council had. received from the
Public Utility District No. 1, requesting the City to withdraw its objection to the P.U.D},}+ ,
filing it's application for water rights on the Dosewallips River. He stated that the

the City retain possession of the water rights as long as financia7.ly possible. He stated
that the the water committee recommended that the City secure and maintain the water rights hr
to the Dosewallips River as applied for,
Councilmen Mueller stated that giving up the rights would not be serving the City and �qq r fir' 4ir

ation of the Water Committee be accepted. Upon roll call vote all five Councilmen present w rg u
voted in the affirmative and motion carried. t`n
City Engineer Jones informed the Council that the Plans and specificatibas for the
�i Little Quilcene River Diversion Dam and Pipe Line were ready and ask the Council to allow �Vo�„'d �s "
the City Clerk to Call for Bids on that Project. It was moved by Councilman Siebenbaumtr , ;pE
and seconded by Councilman Sullivan that the City Clerk be instructed to call for bids on fi
the Little Quilcene River Diversion Dam and Pipe Line Project. Upon roll call all flue N t'
Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion carried.

The City Council OR the City of Port Townsend, Washington, met in regular session this
3rd day of July, 1956., at.7:30 P/M in the cmuncii Chambers of the City hall, Mayor George
Bangerter, presiding.

The minutes of the phevious session were reed in full and it was moved by Councilman,
Sullivan and Seconded by Councilman Mueliler that th@ minutes be approved as rqad and th
the Mayor And City Clerk be authorizedpto sign sane. Upon roll call vote all six Couneilme
present voted in the affirmative and motion cprriged ,

Approved bills and claims as audited by the Finance Committee for the month of June,l

It was moved by Councilman Sullivan end Seconded by Councilman Ellis that the bills
be approved as read end thetXthat the Mayob and City Clerk be authorized to draw warrants
upon the proper funds for payment &f same. Upon roil call vote all six Councilmen present
voted in the affirmative and motion carried.
CONSIDERATION OF OTHER CLAIbLS
The City Clerk presented the following bills for conaideration, st ting that as yet
there was no money in the fund to pay the claims,
Cotton Engineering & Shipbuilding Corp. 1st Est, East Dam-Lordss Lake- $4510.95
Cotton Engineering & Shipbuilding Corp. 1st Est, North Dam-Lord(a Lake- $2,732,32
It was moved by Councilman Mueller and Seconded by Councilmen 31lis that as soon as
funds are available that the city clerk sign the necessary warrants to pay the above estim
Upon roll call vote all six Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion carried

Building permits be approved. Upon roll call vote all six Councilmen pre
voted in the affirmative and motion carried,
Councilman Sullivan arrived during the reading of the minutes and participated in the
rest of the meeting.
