Herington Truck Driver 109.70 'total $349.10 1 1 i114 Y 6> f t Minutes of Regular Session April 2, 1940, continued REPORTS OF COMMITTEES Police Committee Councilman Maroldo reporting for the Police Committee upon the matter of Police Matron for the skating rink, which was referred to that committee at a previous meeting, presented and read a written report as follows: Honorable Mayor & City Council Gentlemen: Pursuant to motion of the City Council, the undersigned members of the Police and License Committee, met with William Buse concerning the matter of Police Matron at the skating rink. Also present were Police Chief Willestoft and City Attorney Daly. We see no necessity for the appointment of a Police Matron, as an ex-officio member of the City Police Department, and so informed Mr. Buse. If he wishes to employ a female super- visor, that is entirely up to him. We informed Air. Buse that if he wanted the supervisor to be vested with official police powers, that the Chief should agree to the person appointed, in view of the fact that the Chief is liable for the acts of police subordinates, under his official bond. J. F. Maroldo Mr. Buse, the operator of the skating rink visa present in the Council Chambers and upon questioning by the Mayor, stated his satisfaction at the arrangement and understanding worked out mutually by the Police Committee; the Chief of Police, and himself, as outlined in the foregoing written report. Finance and Claims' The report of the Committee on Finance and Claims; to whom was referred the matter of the Treasurer's report for the month of February, 1940, was read and ordered filed. Water and Drainage The report of the Committee on Water and Drainage, to whom was referred the matter of the Water Superintendent's report for the month of February, 1940, visa read and ordered filed. BUILDING PERMITS Requests for permission to build were presented and read as follows: From Henry Decker, to -wit: Port Townsend, Washington March 22, 1940 To the Honorable Mayor and City Council Port Townsend, Washington Gentlemen: Permission is requested to erect a four room; frame, dwelling, approximately 281 x 301, on my property situate Lots 3 and"4, Block 10, Aldrich Addition; at an estimated cost of approximately $1000.00 for materials. Respectfully submitted, Henry Decker From B. 0. Larsen, to -wit: Port Townsend, Washington March 26, 1940 To the Honorable Mayor and City Council Port Townsend, Washington Gentlemen: Permission is requested to erect a lean-to addition 12' x 12' to the building situate Lot 8, Block 4, Original Townsite, at an estimated cost of $10.00 for materials. Larsen Permits Granted It was moved by Councilman Sullivan, and seconded by Councilman Lammers, that per- ission to build be granted in accordance with the foregoing requests. Motion carried.
