Brown, that the fore- going claims be allowed and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to issue warrants upon the proper funds in payment thereof. City Attornqy City Attorney Daly reported that he, Councilman Robt. W. Brown and Water Superintendent Lockhart, appeared before the Board of County Commissioners and protested the application of the Crosby Lighterage Company, for the vacation by the County of certain streets at Hadlock, Washington, upon the grounds that the City of Port Townsend is at present maintaining water service lines upon the said streets of Hadlock. lie stated further that the Commissior had continued the hearing upon said application until the date of April 2nd, in order that proper arrangements might be made for protection of the Cityls rights to maintain such water lines. d 0 613 Minutes of Regular Session March 5, 1940, continued. REPORTS OF COMMITTEES Finance Committee The report ,of the Committee on Finance and Claims, to whom was referred the matter of the Treasurer's report for the month of January, 1940, was read and ordered filed. Water Committee' The report of the Water and Drainage Committee, to whom was referred the matter of the Water Superintendentts report for the month of January, 1940, was read and ordered filed. BUILDING PERMITS Requests for permission to build or to make repairs and additions, were presented and read as follows: From C. E. Richards, to -wit: Port Townsend, Washington March 5, 1940 To the Honorable Mayor and City Council Port 'Townsend, Washington Gentlemen: Permission is requested to make general repairs to the dwelling situate 909 Madison Street; at an estimated cost of approximately $300.00.
