Committee for investigation and report.
It was moved by Councilman Richards, and seconded by Councilman Sullivan, that the othe

CO1*YUNICATIONS
From Department of Labor and Industries
Two communications from the Department of Labor and Industries, relative to the final
disposition of the claims arising from injuries to A. D. Swanson, and to Rollie Stahl, were
read and ordered filed.
From Department of Public Service
A letter from the State Department of Public Service expressing appreciation of the
cooperation received from t'is city in maintaining proper railroad crossing warning signs
was read to the Council.
From Department of Highways
A communication from the State Department of Highways stating that the estimated re-
venue from the -ns tax fund for the calendar year 1940, to the City of Port 'Townsend,
amounted to $8,241.28, was read and ordered filed.
From County Assessor
The assessed va_uation of the City of Port Townsend as reported to the City Clerkta
office by the County Assessor, for the year 1940, was read to the Council, and the report
ordered filed.
From Blyth & Company
A letter from Blyth & Co., Inc., offering for sale one of this Cityfs Water Revenue
Bonds, was read to the Council, but no action taken.
From. C. H. O'Meara
The application of C. 1'. 0114eava for a license to operate a for hire car in the City of
Port lownsend was read and referred to the Police and License Committee for consideration.
REQUISITIONS
A requisition by the City Treasurer for a pen and inkwell set was read, and upon motion
of Councilman Lammers, seconded by Councilman Sullivan, and duly carried, was granted.

ORDINANCES AHD RESOLUTIONS
A resolution was presented and read as follows:
RESOLUTION
'HHEREAS Plans and Specifications were drawn for the construction of City Street Project
No. 4, Port 'Townsend, and,
71HEREAS, during the course of construction it became necessary to change the plans, and
WHEREAS,the change necessitated a change in the list of quantities,
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the following is a correct list of quantities for the
items changed:

It was moved by Councilman Richards, and seconded by Councilman Lewis, that the said
Resolution be adopted.
Upon roll call vote, all four Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and the
motion visa declared carried.
UNFINISHED AND NIM BUS114ESS
It visa moved by Councilman Richards, and seconded by Councilman Sullivan, that action
upon the requested water line extension on "W" Stre-:t be dismissed until such time as the
contemplated building of homes progressed sufficiently to warrant such installation.
Notion carried.
City Attorney Daly stated that legislation on the so-called "Spend -Lend Bill", now
made possible the installation of sewers and garbage disposal equipment with advantages
to the City which might not be available in the future, and urged that members ofthe
Council acquaint themselves with the provisions of the act with a view to taking definite
action in the near future.
ADJOURNMENT
No further business appearing for consideration by the Council, it visa moved by
Councilman Sullivan, and seconded by Councilman Lammers, that the Council do now adjourn.
Notion carried.
