pit and a city owned nit, I believe it would be desirabel to close the streets named. As
the development of the pit, both present and future have created n situation of making the
abutting streets as thoroughfarea useless, and -..n any future demands on the part of the
adjacent property owners would not create a demand for the use of the streets asked to be
vacated, the particular street area involved would not play a part in the development of the
district.

service contract of the Burroughs Adding Machine Company be renewed 'on the basis recommended
by the City Clerk as expressed from a communication from that company.

r R� The communication asking for the vacation of parts of certain streets as above stated,

Councilman Robt. Brown arose and spoke upon the matter stating that the reason for the
proposed vacation was to make available to Mr. Ytvarsky, gravel from this property of which
e=+f 'hfYftty the City had no need in exchange for gravel furnished the City by L1r. Ywarsky from his own
property.

use upon the City streets or other uses of the City's need, but that a portion of the gravel
upon the abutting pronerty owned by Mr. Ytiarsky was a proper grade for the City's use, but c Id

Honeyman Tap -
Councilman Richards arose and stated that Lh•s. Honeyman, livin on Blaine Street, had

J; complained of lack of pressure in her water lines. This was believed due to the factthat
k, the present service was quite distant from this property. He further stated that there was
a water ma h� in running much closer to this property than the one upon vr:ach the present tap is
located, and asked if it would be possible to change to the closer main; which matter was 1•
j eferred to the Plater Superintendent.

Mayor Hirtzler addressed the Council stating that there visa some question as to whether
the tires procurred by Gould & Pedersen for installation on the Adams Grader, as recently
r, awarded, were of a quality equal to those specified, and asking for an expression of the
Council in the matter.
Clark Aldrich Addrecses Council
L:r. Clark Aldrich visa present in the Council Rooms and asked permission to speak in
regard to the matter of tires for the grader. He stated that the Firestone tire upon w1iich
he had furnished quotations at the request of the Street Committee of the City Council
' fully met specifications stipulated by the Committee in their recuest for the price of
quotations and enumerated various advantages which he believed were to be obtained thru use
of the Firestone tire,
