REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTERS
Water Committee:
Councilman Naughton, Chairman of the Water Committee, reporting on
on the claim of M. W.Porter relative to damage caused by a broken water line, stated that
the removal of debris could be done by a City crew, and added that he considered the
claimant entitled to a compensation of approximately ;25.00.

Roll Call.
Upon roll call, all four Councilmen present voted in the affirmative
and the motion eras declared carried.
Fire Committee:
Councilman Lewis, Chairman of the Fire Cornittea, reported that no
agreement had been reached regarding the purchase of new fire hose, and that no order had
as yet been placed. He stated further that a hose coupling machine can be purchased for
approximately $20.00.
BUILDING PERMITS
Applications for building permits wore presented, read, and disposed of as follows:

owner of the said property. Razing of these buildings will be done in accordance with city
ordinances governing same.

going permits be granted, with the proviso that Pli_�liam Scott be required to post a $5.00

Bulletin of 7ashington Cities.
Two bulletins from the Association of Wash
Cities were presented, their contents briefly noted, and were ordered filed for future
reference.
REQUISITIONS,
For the City Clerk's Office, to -wit:
600 Skill Game License forms; 1 ream second sheets, Typewriter paper.
It was moved by Councilman Naughton and seconded by Councilman:•.Ammeter that the
requisition be granted. Motion declared carried.

the monthly report of the Chief of Police do so show the name of the arresting officer in
each instance. Motion declared carried.
Application for Street Lease:
The application of Ira A Chapman for renewal of
the lease of Benton and Cass Streets, between Water Street and fort 'Townsend Bay visa
presented and read as follows:
Port Townsend, Plash., Sept. 15, 1938
To the Honorable Mayor and City Council,
Port Townsend, Washington
Gentlemen:
Application is hereby made to renew lease of the South end of each, Benton and
Cass Streets, (between Water Street and Port Townsend Bay), for a term of one year; for the
purpose of maintaining billboards.
The rental in the amount of $2.00 each, per year, has been paid to the City
Treasurer.

said lease be issued. Motion declared carried.
Earlier Meeting IIour.
The City Officers and Members of the City Council were reminded verbally that
October lst was the date specified for the inauguration of the schedule for Winter Sessions
whereby the hour for meeting is specified as 7:30 P.M.
ADJOURNMENT.
No further business appearing, it was moved by Councilman Ammeter and seconded by
Councilman Naughton that the Council do now adjourn. Motion declared carried.
