(Hoskins application continued) The said application was referred to the Street Committee for investigation and report Re: a New City Dump. In the matter of locating a new city dumping grounds, as referred to in the commu nication from City Attorney Daly, it was moved by Councilman Naughton and seconded by coun- cilman Lafferty that the Council co-operate in every way with the Boned of County Commis- sioners toward securing and establishing a new city dump as proposed. Motion declared carried. Chlorine Contract. The Pennsylvania Salt Manufacturing Co., with place of business at Tacoma, Wash., presented contract forms for a renewal of the yearly agreement to furnish the city with the chlorine required by the city water system for the ensuing calendar year, the price to be the same as the current year, to -wit: Nine cents (") per pound f.o.b. Tacoma Washington, or Ten cents (10¢) per pound f.o.b. Port Townsend, Washington, including return transportation charges on empty cylinders to Tacoma, Washington. It was moved by Councilman Lafferty and seconded by Councilman Brown that the Mayor be authorized to sign and execute the said contract on behalf of the city. Motion declared carried. ADJOURNMENT. City Attorney Daly, referring to the City 1reasurer, s re- 4 port, called the attention of the Council to the fact that there were surplusses in several funds which would not be used in the near future in the regular course of business and re- " '' `,,,v ;� S`r•, c, commended that part of these surplusses be used to take up a couple of "Old Indebtedness" warrants at this time and save interest on same, inasmuch as these idle funds no longer draw interest at the bank. This matter, he stated, had been canvassed with the City 'Treasurer who will write to the holder of these warrants and make an offer to take up the warrants at axe xtxCh r, j least three or four months in advance of ordinary time of pa ymant if the ovmer would offer xciioj trra j a suitable discount on same, and it is believed that ititll information will be available at the next regular session of the Council.
