It was moved by Councilman Brown apd seconded by Councilman Lafferty that the said requisition be granted. Motion declared carried. ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS. Emergency Ordinance Introduced. An ordinance to authorize emergency expenditures, which ordinance is entitled "An Ordinance providing for the immediate appropriation of money for expenditure during the year 1937 for the Current Expense Fund of the City of Port Townsend and declaring an emergency", was introduced, and read in full for the first reading, and in accordance with State Statutes, laid over to the next regular session. "Marble" or "Pin Ball" Ordinance. A proposed ordinance setting up a new schedule of fees for "Marble Game" and like devices and repealing the ordinance now in force, was introduced and road in full for the first reading, the said ordinance being entitled "An Ordinance providing for the licensing for revenue and regulation of machines or devices for playingames of skill, and repealing all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith.' W. J. Daly communication. Accompanying the presentation of the said ordinance was a communication from City Attorney Daly, which was read as followrs, to -wit: Port 'Townsend, Washington, Nov. 16, 1937 Honorable Mayor and City Council of the City of Port Townsend Gentlemen: At the request of the Mayor I transmit herewith a proposed form of ordinance repealing the old "pin ball. ordinance" and substituting the attached in lieu thereof. You will note that I hate incorporated language which will make this ordinance effect- ual January 1, 1938. In view of the fact that certain interested persons have contacted me with the request that operation of pin ball games be limited only to places where minors are not permitted, I desire to call this fact to your attention in order that free debate may be had by the Council before the ordinance is passed. In certain towns using a similar ordinance I find that some have used the identical language in the proposed ordinance, while others have used language prohibiting the use of the machines to persons over the age of eighteen. Very truly yours, W. J. Daly, City Attorney. No action this session. There being no motion to consider the ordinance at this session, it automatically goes over to the next regular meeting of the Council. Recess. It was moved by Councilman Lafferty and seconded by Councilman Brown that the Council recess for a short period. Motion declared carried and recess taken. Reconvened, and Roll Call. Council re -convened at 8:45 o'clock p.m., and upon roll call there were present: Mayor H. L. Hirtzler, City Attorney W. J. Daly, City Clerk C. F. Christian, and Councilmen Lewis, Ammeter, Naughton, Brown and Lafferty. Utility Tax Ordinance. It was stated that in a free discussion had during the recess, certain items in in the proposed Utility Tax Ordinance had been agreed upon, and City Attorney Daly advised that a new ordinance would be written containing the proposed items and that each council- man would be furnished a copy thereof. General Discussion. A general discussion was then had relating principally to license fees, City Atty Daly and City Clerk Christian reporting on information obtained at the regional meeting at Hoquiam as to fees in force in other cities in the peninsular region. Adjournment. No further business appearing and upon motion of Councilman Naughton, seconded by Councilman Brown, the Council voted to adjourn. Attester Mayor City Cleric.
