WHEREAS, at the time uofVthe +adoption of the official budget for the City of Port Town-
send for the general maintenance, preservation and repair of the city streets for that year
the statute law of the State of Washington now operative, was not then in force and effect,
and,
WHEREAS, The budget for the Street Department of the City of Port Townsend, insofar as
general maintenance, preservation and repair, is now exhausted and an emergency ordinance
to provide fAnds for the year 1937, being numbered 1087, has been passed by the City Coun-
cil, approved by the Mayor, and will, in due course, become in force and effect, now, there'
fora,
IN CONSIDERATION of the premises and for the purpose of giving financial strength to
said emergency ordinance and to comply with Chapter 189, Laws of Washington, 1937,
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CIl'Y COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND:
That upon the taking force and effect of said Ordinance No. 1087, of said city, the
following budgetary accounting changes of the said city dhall forthwith become operative,
that is to say:
1. That there be and hereby is transferred from the Current Expense Fund of said city
to the City Street Fund, the sum of $112.00, receipts of Justice of the Poqce fines and
forfeitures received by said city under the provisions of Chapter 189, Laws of Washington,
1937.
2. That all sums of money to be received by said city during the remainder of the year
1937 from that source be credited to the City Street Fund.
3. That from the future allocations to the City of Port 'Townsend under the provisions
of Chapter 62 of the Laws of the Extraordinary Session 1933, and Acts amendatory thereto,
there be credited to the City Street Fund, the sum of $900.00, or so much thereof as may be
required to cover the expenses contemplated by said Ordinance No. 1087.

Approved by the Mayor November 2nd, 1937.

Inquiry to Visitors:
There being a number of visitors present, the Mayor extended an invitation to ad-
dress the Council if any one so desired but no one had anything to offer.
ADJOURNMENT.
Upon motion of Councilman Brown and seconded by Councilman Naughton, the Council
voted to adjourn.

Owirg to lack of a quorum of the City Council, no meeting was held on this date.
Mayor H. L. Hirtzler announced that a regular meeting of the Council would be held at the
regular hour on Tuesday, November 23rd, and requested of the City Clerk that he send to
each councilman due notice thereof.
Officers and Councilmen present were as follows: Mayor H. L. Hirtzler, City Attor
W. J. Daly, City Clerk C. F. Christian, and Councilmen R. E. Ammeter, Peter Naughton and
W. S. Lafferty. -

The CITY COUNCIL of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, met in regular session
this 23rd day of November, 1937, at 7:30 o'clock p.m., in the council chambers of the city1
hall, Mayor H. L. Hutzler presiding.

I am the owner of Blocks 24, 27 and 34 in the California Addition and request
your permission to cut and remove the timber on 35thaStreet, between Blocks 27 and 34, and
also to out and remove the timber from the half of the streets (Jackman and Hill Streets)
abutting upon Blocks 27 and 34 on the east and west sides, and upon the half of the street,
(36th St.), abutting upon the north side of Block 34; all in California Addition.

consequent upon cutting the above mentioned timber.
