Mayor Hirtzler then announced that anyone desiring'to make exceptions or objections to the said vacation could now be heard. Petition to Vacate Granted. No objections being heard, it was moved by Councilman Sather and Seconded by Councilman Brown that the said petition be granted. Upon roll call vote, all six council- men present voted in the affirmative and motion wasdeclared carried. Revert to Ordinances and Resolutions. The Mayor stated that the Council would revert to order of bdsiness "Ordinances and Resolutions, to allow the submission, at this time, of an ordinance to confirm the vaea tion of the blooks and parts of streets specified in the foregoing petition for vacation. The said ordinance being presented, it was read in full by the City Clerk for the firs reading, the title being "An Ordinance of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, vacating a portion of the Plat of Dundee Place, and addition to the City of Port Townsend and pants of certain streets therein." 2nd Reading: It was moved by Councilman Sather and seconded by Councilman Ammeter tha the f rs rea g be considered the second reading and that the third reading be by title only. Upon roll call vote, all six councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. 3rd Readitf*and Passage. The City Clerk read the said ordinance by title only for the third reading and it was then moved by Councilman Brown and seconded by Councilman Lafferty that said ordinance do now pass. Upon roll call vote, Councilmen Sather, Lewis, Ammeter and Naughton voted in the affirmative and Councilmen Brown and Lafferty in the negative. Motion declared carried. Copy of Ordinance. The following is a full, true and correct copy of the said ordi- nance as passed by the City Council October 5, 1937, approved by the Mayor October 5, 1937, and published in the Port Townsend Leader October 7, 1937, toxwit: ORDINANCE NO. 1086 An Ordinance of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, vacating a portion of the plat of Dundee Place, an addition to the City of Port Townsend and parts of certain streets there in. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That that portion of the Plat of Dundee Place, an addition to the City of Port Townsend, and within the city limits of the City of Port Townsend, as follows: Blocks one (•1), two (2). three (3), four (4) and five (5), together with portions of Jackman, Holcomb, Gise and Wilson Streets from the north line of 36th Street to the south boundary of Tax No. 36 in Section 3, Township 30 North, Range 1 West W.:% , be, and the same is hereby vacated. Section 2. That this ordinance be published once in the Port Townsend; to be in force and take affect as provided by law. Returning to order of Unfinished and New Business, Council- man Lafferty informally brought up the matter of certain proposed building construction in the old Ford Motor Building, and, after an informal discussion the matter was left with the Building Committee. Funds for City Street Dept. Councilman Sather brought up the matter of securing addi- tional funds to finance street maintenance for the remainder of the year 1937 and asked the other councilmen to study the situation and make recommendations as to methods o$ raising the necessary funds at the next session of the council. Dear Sir:_ Sometime in May you were informed that the City of Port Townsend had been credits with $1620.00 on the basis of 0500.00 per mile for maintaining the Primaz•y Highway through your city during the whole of the 1937-1939 biennium. j It has developed that we were in error in making this entry for the entire biennium The Director of Highways is required by Section 61, Chapter 187, Laws of 1937, to certify the mileage each year. Some mileage will be changed in April, 1938.
