GENERAL BUDGET, The .General Budget for the city was next taken up, and read in full for the first reading. It was moved by Councilman Lafferty and seconded by Councilman Brown that the first reading be considered the second reading bed that the thii`d reading be by title only. Upo roll call vote, all six councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declare carried. 3rd Reading and Passage. AN ORDINANCE fixing and adopting the official bAdget for the City of Port Townsend, Washington, for the year 1938. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the following be,and the same is hereby, fixed and adopted as the official budget for the City of Port Townsend for the year 1938, fort axation purposes, divided in the total amounts in each of the following classes comprising the whole of said budget, to -wit: Salaries and Wages .................................... $ 17,891.00 Operation and Maintenance ............................. 8,712.42 Capital Outlay .. .. .... ............................. 5,878.92 Interest and Debt Redemption .......................... . 15,867.34 Section 2. That this Ordinance be published once in the Port Townsend Leader and to take effect and be in force as provided by law. Passed by the City Council October 5, 1937. The ordinance making and fixing the tax levy for the ensuing year was next taken up and read in full by the City Clerk, for the first reading. It was moved by Councilman Naughton abd seconded by Councilman Brown that the first reading be considered the second reading and that the third reading be by title only. Upon roll call vote, all six councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. 3rd heading and Passage. The said ordinance wee then read by title only for the third reading whereupon it was moved by Councilman Ammeter and seconded by Councilman Brown that said ordinance do now pass. AN ORDINANCE, making and fixing the tax levy for the City of Port Townsend, Washington for takes for the year 1938. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Seventh: For the payment of Indebtedness of the City of Port Townsend known as the "Indebt- �. edness Fund," the sum of $6,433.78, and the rate of tax levy for said purpose is hereby fixed at seven (7) mills on the dollar.
