It was moved by Councilman Lafferty and seconded by Councilman Naughton that the said
Claims be allowed and that the Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized to issue warrants up-
on the proper funds in payment of same- Upon Roll Call vote, all four Councilmen present
voted in the adfirmative and motion was declared carried.

Grading Work Paid.
The Clerk further reported that a check in the amount of $15.00 had been received
grom the Washington Asphalt Co., for grading work done by the street department on the U.S.
quarantine grounds.
August Report, Chief of Police:
The reportof the Chief of Police for the month of August, 1937, was presented,
read, and ordered filed.
Treasurer's August Report:
The City reasurerts report covering the month of August, 1937, was presented, re+
and referred to the -Finance Committee.
Defeo arrives:
Councilman Defeo arrived at this time and took his seat in the 'Council.
REPORTS OF COMMITTEES.
Bank Interest: Committee to whom was referred the communication of the First American
Nations a , re ative to stoppage of Interest on Deposits, reported progress.

Att: His Honor, the Mayor.
Gentlemen: -
The writer is erecting a home, located on Morgans Hill, Port Townsend, and deaf
to place before the Council the matter of water supply. Said home is being built on Lots
7-8, Block Two, in Al Pettygrove's Addition to Port Townsend.
Considering present water mains and sewer lines, it becomes quite expensive to
property owners to open up property in this vicinity. I am now laying sewer pipe for a d
tance of 200 feet to Roosevelt Street. However, Imwould, if possible, like to obtain some
