the said resolution be adopted. Upon Roll Call vote, all five councilmen present voted
in the affirmative and motion was declared carried.
The resolution was then signed and attested by the Mayor and City Clerk respectfively.
UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS.
Re: Digging up Streets.
Mayor Hirtzler brought up the matter of digging up streets for sewer repair and
other purposes, calling attention to a few recent infractions of the law, and requested the
City Clerk to ask the Leader to give publicity to the fact that ordinances goverbing diggin
in the city streets would be enforced in the future.
Change in Standing Committees.
The Mayor announced changes in the Standing Committees, as follows:
Councilman Naughton from the Fire and Light Committee to the chairmanship of the Water
and Drainage Committee; and Councilman De Leo from the Water and Drainage Committee to the
Fire and Light Committee.
$150.00 Salary for Water Supt. approved.
At the request of the City Clerk, asking that the Council approve the fixing of t
salary of the Water Superintendent at $150.00 per month, it was moved by Councilman Naughto
and seconded by Councilman Brown that the said salary amount be approved and confirmed.
Upon Roll Call vote all fice councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was de-
clared carried.
Station Prairie Easement.
The City Clerk reported that he had been advised by Fort Worden authorities that
the War Department desired that the city make application for an easement across the prop-
erty known as Station Prairie to cover the property now occupied by the city water supply
line; it appearing from their records that such easement had not heretofore been requested.
It was then moved by Councilman Naughton and seconded by Councilman Ammeter that
the City Attorney be directed to proceed to prepare and make such application to the U.S.
Government. Motion declared carried.
Condemnation of Property deferred.
In the matter of possible condemnGtion of property in the John Bartlett Addition
for street purposes, it visa informally.agreed, after extended discussion, that no immediate
action be taken, but that further negotiation be attempted and further consideration be
given the matter.
Bellingham Convention.
Informal and abbreviated reports relative to the activities of the Association of
Washington Cities convention recently held at Bellingham, were made by the delegates from
this city.
Ad$purnment.
Upon motion of Councilman Naughton, seconded by Councilman Lafferty, the Council
voted to adjourn.
