The CITY COUNCIL of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, met in regular session thi 4th day of May, 1937, at 8 o'clock p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City Ball, Mayor 11. L. Hirtzler presiding. MINUTES APPROVED. The Minutes of the regular session of April 20th were read and approved as read. BILLS AND CLAIMS. It was moved by Councilman Naughton and seconded by Councilman Brown that the said claims be allowed and that the Mayor and the City Clerk be authorized to draw warrants upon the proper funds in payment of same. Upon roll call vote, all four councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. REPORTS OF OFFICERS. Salary Warrants Issued. Swanson Street Supt. 109.64 2 Rollie Stahl Truck Driver 99.64 Total 209.28 Buhler notified of Bid Acceptance. -The Clerk further reported that he had duly notified the Buhler Motor Company of the acceptance of their bid to supply the city with a truck for the Street Dept. Chief of Police April Report. The report of the Chief of Police for the month of April, 1937, visa presented, read and ordered filed. Main line Meter Readings. The report of the Water Supt., showing the flow of water through the main line meters, for the period ending May 4th, was presented, read and ordered filed. WATER SUPTP REPORTS. Pea Cannery Water Supply. Water Supt. Lockhart reported to the Council that the manager of the Pea Cannery had made a request that the city install a 4" supply or service pipe to the cannery instead of the 2" lbipe as ordered by the council, on the plea that the 2" pipe would not supply the quantity of crater that they would need for short periods. After some discussion to bring out the situation, it was moved by Councilman Naughton and seconded by Councilman Ammeter, that the Water Supt, proceed to install a 2" pipe as originally instructed. Upon roll call all four councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. Irondale Mains. Water Supt. Lockhart brought up the matter of replacing old .crater mains in Irondale, stating that a portion of an iron main had been bursted a number of times from freezing until it vras practically beyond repair. tie further stated that the County would improve and grade the street where this pipe was located and suggested, that inasmuch as the department had on hand a quantity of low pressure 4" wood pipe which could be used in this location, that it be installed on the street mentioned instead of wasting further time and money trying to repair the old pipe. Delinquent water users would furnish labor. Ordered Installed. It was then ;moved by Councilman Naughton and seconded by Councilma Brown that the 4" pipe be used to replace the old pipe, as suggested by the Water Sutp. Upon Roll Call vote, all four Councilmen prestne voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried. 1•
