WATER SUPTP REPORTS.
Pea Cannery Water Supply.
Water Supt. Lockhart reported to the Council that the manager of the Pea Cannery
had made a request that the city install a 4" supply or service pipe to the cannery instead
of the 2" lbipe as ordered by the council, on the plea that the 2" pipe would not supply the
quantity of crater that they would need for short periods. After some discussion to bring
out the situation, it was moved by Councilman Naughton and seconded by Councilman Ammeter,
that the Water Supt, proceed to install a 2" pipe as originally instructed. Upon roll call
all four councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried.
Irondale Mains.
Water Supt. Lockhart brought up the matter of replacing old .crater
mains in Irondale, stating that a portion of an iron main had been bursted a number of times
from freezing until it vras practically beyond repair. tie further stated that the County
would improve and grade the street where this pipe was located and suggested, that inasmuch
as the department had on hand a quantity of low pressure 4" wood pipe which could be used
in this location, that it be installed on the street mentioned instead of wasting further
time and money trying to repair the old pipe. Delinquent water users would furnish labor.
Ordered Installed.
It was then ;moved by Councilman Naughton and seconded by Councilma
Brown that the 4" pipe be used to replace the old pipe, as suggested by the Water Sutp.
Upon Roll Call vote, all four Councilmen prestne voted in the affirmative and motion was
declared carried.
