A discussion relative to the requisition brought out the statements that the tires
desired were of the safety type and that the four tires would coat approximately $90.00, lea
the trade-in value of the present tires, and that this type of tires was gmod insurance a- ell,., tit�M1 y`� sn
gainst accidents due to high speeds.
It was moved by Councilman Naughton and seconded by Councilman Sather that the sai'�
requisition be granted. Upon Roll Call vote, all six Councilmen present voted in the affirm ;,, `mi. y ,
ative and motion was declared carried.

ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS. To Endorse Legislative Measures.
A circular letter from the Association of Washington Cities, addressed to member cities ,ray
presenting a proposed resolution to urge the passage of certain bills now before the State "� z{ r srKw}•
Legislature, was presented and read, but because of its length, the said letter is not here- 3> ? itt.;a
with set out in full, the proposed resolution covering practically all of the subject matter �3 „'�l.1«11+zl
of the communication.' i
The said proposed resolution was then presented and read, as follows:

House Bill No. 138 would give counties, cities -and towns 25% of the sales tax; House n s}
Bill No. 139 would give to cities and towns 20% of the net revenues, after certain deductionof

Bill No. 175 would require the State liquor control board to make not less than 25% net prof, r 1

on the other, on a 50-50 basis. This was the division originally provided in the law and :+
until changed by the 1935 legislature. 1
These measures, if enacted into law. will give cities, towns and counties much needed
revenues; als enable them to wipe out deficits and perform necessary functions of government. ri s
RESOLVED, further, that a copy of this resolution be sent to each Senator and represen-
tative from this district.
It was moved by Councilman Lewis and seconded by Councilman Sather that the said reaolu- t ,!
tion be adopted. Upon Roll Call vote, all six councilmen present voted in the affirmative
and motion was declared carried.
The said resolution was then duly signed by the Mayor and attested by the City 89.crk as �5
of this date.

Re: Appointments:_
Stating that if the matter was in order, Councilman Ammeter asked
if the Council might be informed as to the cause or reason for replacing the former Street
Superintendent. Councilman Naughton gave it as his opinion that discussion or reference
to the matter was out of order in open council and no further consideration was given the
matter. -- ---
