The CITY COUNCIL of the City of Port Towrnsenr, Washington, met in regular session this
6th day of October, 1936, at 7:30 o'clock p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall,
Councilman Wm. Lammers, Amyor pro tem presiding in the absence of Mayor Geo. Bangerter.

The minutes of the regular session of Sept. 15th, 1936 were read and approved as
read.

It was moved by Councilman Hirtzler and seconded by Councilman Naughton that the

BUDGET ORDINANCES.
Dater Department Budget..Ordinnce.
An Ordinance confirming the Dater Department Budget as adopted by the Council was
presented and read in full for the first reading.
It was then moved by Councilman Hirtzler and seconded by Councilman Naughton that
the first reading be considered the second reading and that the third reading be by title
only. Upon Roll Call vote all five councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motio
was declared carried.
3rd Reading and Passage.
The City Clerk read the s¢is ordinance by title only for the
third reading whereupon it was moved by Councilman Ilirtzler and seconded by Councilman
Naughton that said ordinance do now pass. Upon Roll Call vote, all five councilmen presen
voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried.

AN ORDINANCE fixing and adopting a budget for the Water Department fob the City of Port
Townsend, for the year 1937.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TO`;:IISEND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLO71S:
Section 1. That the following described budget be, and the same is hereby,fixed and
adopted for the Linter 'apartment of the City of Port Townsend for the year 1937, divided
1 in the total amounts in each of the following classes comprising the whole of said budget,
to -wit:

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOI'INSEND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the following be, and the same is hereby, fixed and adopted as the of-
ficial budget, and a contingent budget, for the City of Port Townsend, for the year 1937,
for taxation purposes, divided in the total amounts in each of the following classes com-
prising the same, to -writ:
Salaries and Wages ............................... � 15,891.00
Operation and Maintenance ......................... 10,758.57
Capital Outlay ................................ 3,325.00
Interest and Debt Redemption ..................... 15,551.73
Section 2. That this ordinance be published once in the Port Townsend Leader, and to
take affect and be in force as provided by law.
Passed by the City Council Oct. 6th, 1936.

1937 Tax Levy Ordinance.
An Ordinance making and fixing the Tax Levy for tares for the year 1937 was next'
presented and was read in full for the first reading.
It was moved by Councilman Hirtzler and seconded by Councilman Naughton that the
first reading be considered the second reading and that the third reading be by title only.
Upon Roll Call vote, all five councilmen present voted in the affirmative and motion was
declared carried.
Councilmen DeLoo and Sather arrived at this time.
3rd Reading and Passage.
The City Clerk then read the ordinance by title only for the
third reading, whereupon it was moved by Councilman Hirtzler and seconded by Councilman
Naughton that said ordinance do now pass. Upon Roll Call, all seven Councilmen vited in
the affirmative and motion was declared carried.

AN ORDINANCE, making and fixing the tax levy for the City of Port Townsend, Washington,
for taxes for the year 1937.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TO71VSEND, 7tASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That there is hereby levied upon all the taxable property in the City of
Port Townsend, Washington, the following sums of money and rates of tax levy for the differ
ant purposes herein designated for the year 1937, and the rate of taxation upon the asses sa

First: For the payment of current expenses and for the Current Expense Fund, in the sum
of Fourteen Thousand, IIine Hundred Twenty -tyro Dollars and ninety cents ($14922.9 ),
and the rate of tax levy for said fund is hereby fixed at fifteen (15) mills on
the dollar.
Second:For the maintenance and improvement of the public streets and highways of the Citr
and for the Street and Highway blind, the sum of Three Thousand, ;line Iiundred Soveit
nine Dollars and forty-four cents ($3,979.44), and the rate of tax levy for said
purpose is hereby fixed at four (4) mills on the dollar.
Third: For the purpose of maintaining a Public Library, and for the Library Fund, the sun
of One Thousand, Seven Hundred forty Dollars and ninety=night cente;(31,740.98),
and the rate of tax levy for said purpose is hereby fixed at one and throe -fourth
(1-3/4) mills on the dollar.
Fourth: For the purpose of maintaining a public park, and for the Park Fund, the sum of
Ono Thousand, Two Hundred Forty-three Dollars and fifty-seven cents ($1,243.57),
